    What's in the boot (trunk)

Well it is a bodge, but better than leaving the jack etc. in a cardboard box in the boot (like the previous owner). Thanks for the offer Phazer, but for now I'll take a bit of time to bond with the car, then in a few months think about any upgrades Cheers,

    What's in the boot (trunk)

Shame.. I wonder what the previous owner did with the foam. Can't see a good reason to remove it.. I can cope with the technical - over 50 years in electronics - but I only have VCDS, not VCP. For now I think with a bit of surgery I can make the foam items I bought fit tidy. I'll have a go at...

    What's in the boot (trunk)

Thanks for the pic' Phazer. I don't have a sub, or cables to connect one, so I guess it's an option.. If it's not fitted, I wonder if they put anything ints place?

    What's in the boot (trunk)

Well.. we all have bad days. I did see someone on Fleabay selling exactly this one supposedly from an S1, but 2011 to 2015. Did something change in 2015?

    What's in the boot (trunk)

..so I lifted the floor in the boot of my 2017 S1 Sportback expecting to find a spare, but there was only the battery and a bit of empty space! I bought these bits on Ebay from a 5-door A1, but they're obviously not the right ones. Can someone please post pics of what should be in there - thanks.

    Remap my 2017 S1

Ouch! I looked at the price of the Sachs organic clutch, then thought about what else I'd change (dual mass flywheel, release bearing etc.) and the total, even doing the work myself is more than I can entertain at the moment. Guess I'll settle for 230hp for a few months until the bank balance...

    Remap my 2017 S1

After a few years driving a Seat, I'm back! Just bought myself a 2017 S1. I would like a stage 1 remap, and just looking for advice on any "must dos" that go with it e.g. clutch upgrade? Thoughts please?

Boot (Trunk) lid switch not working

Hi, The switch on the boot lid of my 2009 S4 Avant (the one above the number plate) doesn't work correctly. When the boot is closed, it does nothing. When the boot is open, this switch causes it to close! Testing at the convenience switch connector (T32d/5) is correct. The pin is grounded...

    S4 Aftermarket Steering Knuckle

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Sorry I didn't see it sooner (I thought I would get an email notification). The part I need is for the left side. My copy of Etka is from 2010. It shows 8K0 407 253 G for cars after December 2008 and up to November 2009 (my car is early 2009). After November 2009, the...

    S4 Aftermarket Steering Knuckle

I have to replace one of the steering knuckles on my 2009 S4, and have been stunned at the cost from Audi. Aftermarket parts are available at sensible prices for cars from late 2009 onward (e.g. Metzger 58087802), but apparently not for my older car (early 2009). I've studied the photos of the...

    S4 MMI2G DAB Upgrade

Just going through my old posts, I didn't finish this one. I mounted the tuner in the rack below the B&O stuff, and connected it using the power cable and MOST optical splitters (both from Ebay). With an off the shelf stick-on aerial on the rear quarter light, the radio worked first time. A...

    Manual gearbox stiff

If I understand oil spec', the "75" refers to the viscosity of the oil when it's cold. Since the problem only happens when it's cold, I suppose either of these oils would give the same result..?

    Manual gearbox stiff

I was thinking of using the Fuchs. It says it meets the VAG G052911 spec'. I just wondered if anyone has used a lighter oil (and if it helped)?

    Manual gearbox stiff

Looking around I see that some people go for a lighter oil (not necessarily this gearbox). Any thoughts?

    Manual gearbox stiff

Hi, It's difficult selecting gears - as if the synchro isn't working - on my S4, especially when cold. I don't think I have clutch drag, so first thing to do (I suppose) is to change the gearbox oil. Is the manual box a "sealed for life" unit, like the auto, or is it scheduled maintenance...
