As I understand it, the only use for the SIM card slot is to provide a WiFi Hotspot in the car for other users to connect to. The built in SIM doesn't provide this.
For online traffic, send to car functionality from myAudi app etc etc you need an Audi Connect subscription which then includes...
I could now it's out of warranty but I still wouldn't. I just don't want the hassle of having to declare mods to the insurance company whenever I renew.
If I'd wanted more power I would have gone for an S3, but I feel 200bhp ish is enough for me. I had a Mk7 Golf R before this which was good...
I think a rant is well justified in the circumstances!! I think we need a priority change with regard to RTAs. Unless there are genuine reasons not to, the absolute priority should be re opening the road, not closing it for hours at a time for a small bump as they do now.
I've had my 2.0TFSI quattro for just over 3 years. The engine has never missed a beat. It's smooth and quiet when driving normally, but knock the Stronic into sport and there is plenty of power when required. My long term mpg is 35.3. It's a great "have your cake and eat it" engine IMO.
I...
I think so. Unless it was advertised with Nav, I don't see that you have any case at all.
I don't really see how you could think it was their mistake either. It was correctly advertised without Nav. The fact that it's actually "Nav Ready" and just needs an SD card could be argued as a bonus.
The phone is synching OK with Google's "mothership" - it updates saved places straightaway if I go into Google Maps directly on the phone. It's Android Auto's version of Google Maps that was showing different favourites to the phone it was running on which you would think was the easy bit.
I...
Well that's very odd - I've just gone back to the car to take some screenshots showing the favourites list on the phone being different to the AA one in the car, and miraculously my favourites folder in the car is now populated correctly with my Google Maps account ones. Yesterday it was empty...
Interesting. So if you access Google maps via a PC/Mac or tablet and add a saved place there does it then show up in the car in Carplay?
With mine even if I add a favourite to Google maps on my phone, it doesn't show up in AA. Its as if they are two completely separate versions of Google Maps...
I would have thought that too. I get the standard saved places folders within AA (starred/favourites) but they seem to be completely independent from the ones on my Google map account and don't synchronise between the two. Do yours in Carplay synchronise?
Having done a bit more googling of this, it seems that this feature doesn't work with AA. Seems a major downside to me. What is the point of having saved places on your Google Map account but not being able to access them in Google Maps in the car? Also I've noticed that AA Google Maps only...
I'm just starting to try out Android Auto in my 2018 8V. It's all working OK, but I've got an issue with saved places. In my Google map account I have the standard Favorites/Want to Go/Starred folders of saved places plus a few more in my own named folders. I was fully expecting those to...
