I got my POIs from PocketGPS, too. The format I used is: Other - CSV (consolidated by type).

That's right, and I foresaw this when I examined the format of a POI file used by Special destinations. Each entry is simply a pair of GPS coordinates, so the satnav alert is triggered purely by proximity. It's not like the purpose-designed Safety Cameras feature in the freestanding TomTom...

This is not about Q3. Why no Q2 Prefix?

    Thanks, we're in business!

This is not about Q3. Why no Q2 Prefix?

I browsed through this forum to see any posts by Q2 owners but couldn't find any. Now I know why! There's no Q" prefix, and the forum won't even allow a post with No Prefix.

OK, I've now answered my own question by solving the problem. Prompted by Post #169 (kudos to Marmaduke) I asked my Audi dealer to update my MMI software. My car (a Q2) was delivered with version 0148, and this week it was updated to version 0192. (That's the MMI software, not the satnav SD...

Like you, loading special destinations has never worked since I got my car (a Q2) in November, and this server upgrade hasn't fixed it for me. I'm now pretty sure this is because my model has SD card based satnav, not the HD based system you get with the tech pack. I've never got a clear...

FAB101: Please confirm whether your car runs Navigation from a built-in hard drive - it's not clear from your spec details (you don't mention the Tech Pack). It looks as though myAudi Special Destinations won't work on SD card based Navigation, but I haven't been able to get definite...

    myAudi special destinations (POI)

cuke2u - As yours is working, I think the main question is whether navigation is SD card based or whether the maps and routing software are loaded on a built-in hard drive. Conversely is there anyone who definitely has SD card based navigation and has myAudi Special Destinations and Map Updates...

Your comment is probably correct for online updates, but it can't be right for importing updates using an SD card because this is supposed to work if the car is not 'connected'. I suspect there is indeed an issue with the Audi back end servers, but it's to do with the way the POIs are formatted...

    myAudi special destinations (POI)

Yes the manual is generic and covers all versions of the car (in my case all UK versions of the Q2) but each subsection of the manual, if it doesn't apply to all versions, clearly states what model versions or equipment options it applies to. In my manual, both myAudi Special Destinations and...

    myAudi special destinations (POI)

My dealer forwarded this response yesterday from his contact at Audi: "Apparently, this function will only work on cars with a hard drive navigation, ie tech pack. Unlike myAudi destinations which are web based, the Special Destinations are imported onto the hard drive. So therefore not...

The source POI files that I originally uploaded to myAudi are Garmin .csv files created in POI Editor.

That's not a silly question, but no I only have the one vehicle registered. (Anyway if I use a USB stick or SD card for the transfer should the vehicle ID matter, provided I'm using the same myAudi ID?)

    myAudi special destinations (POI)

I've now also tried the update using a USB stick instead of online transfer (downloading the POIs from myAudi with the Java applet provided). The MMI recognised the USB stick and apparently found files on it because I got the same error message as before (post #48 above). So the problem seems to...
