    My 2010 2.0tdi quattro has developed a strange noise kinda like a hanging exhaust, but it's not that. Lol. It only happens when in gear, sitting at idle it's fine no overheating etc but when u take your foot off accelerator it's OK. The noise isn't in engine bay and sounds worse inside the cab...
