Sorry to hijack, but I've been looking at Becker units on the bay...
They're all listed as BMW/Porche(sp)/Merc/Land Rover etc etc - do they all retrofit into an A4? I presume I'll need adaptors for the wiring?
Cheers!
;)
When were the plugs and leads last changed?
My polo used to have the same problem - changed the plugs and leads and it went away!
Not sure if it'll be that simple on an audi tho... I'm just about to change them on my a4 due to a misfire, so hopefully they'll be the cause of my problems too!
most pressed plates are illegal as they're not reflective... the dubmiester ones ARE legal as they've got a reflective coating, but the police are a bit hit and miss as to whether they believe that or not (or at least they are around here!)
Hi guys,
As per my previous posts, the standard system is goosed so I'm gonna upgrade.
Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere I can buy the adaptor leads that will allow the DIS to still display the station name etc?
Thanks!
Darran
Does the stat measure both the oil and water temp then?
Only both of mine are reading low (most of the time - occassionaly the water will jump to 90, but then it's away back to 70 again. The oil never gets above 65)..
Doesn't sould like a massive job though - it might be my first experiment...
It's the noise that I'm after more than anything, it sounds nice as it is, but just too quiet!
The power gain is supposed to be 5-10bhp depending on the system, but as I'm going to map the car i want a system that won't stiffle the map before it starts!
So, removing or replacing (with a sports version) the rear box would be better than taking out the middle box... and significantly cheaper than a full milltex system, plus will probably give me what I want (a small increase in noise and power)
Correct?
(switches browser to ebay...)
Radio out!
Took the drivers side dash cover off, chisel on the side of the radio pulling the frame away from the unit and pulling the radio out at the same time... bent the side of the radio slightly but it came out!!
However, the radio still doesn't work! :banghead:
Checked the leads, the...
the rear box? or the rear cat?
also, as the car's got SO many cat's, could one be removed (increasing the sound/preformance) and it still pass it's MOT?
Pheonix, I was looking at the milltex too... but for £500 I thought I may be able to get something a bit cheaper!
Right, while I faff on with the radio, here comes the next question...
Where's the best place to get a new exhaust for the car? Want something that highlights the V6 noise without being stupidly loud... any suggestions?
Cheers
Darran
