Do you already have a similar grey connector connected up? Was the engine ever changed? From memory you should have two O2 connectors. Same size brown and black.
Knock sensors grey and green and then the crank position sensor plug.
O2 sensors run over the gearbox and to the exhaust.
Knock...
Unscrew the coolant bottle lift out of the way and you will see a row of connectors there. The female for that plug should be there

That's a knock sensor connector. You should have two of em up at the bulk head on right side of the engine bay. The other should be green.

HER or GDZ for quattro models.
The 190 models came with an 01E getrag box that had closer ratios so the other 1.8t a4 boxes won't do. I think the 3.0t a6 had the same ratios.
What do you mean by uprated turbo? If it is a K03 or K03s stick with a standard manifold.
By upgrading to a large port hi flow manifold you loose low end torque and spool up of the small turbo.
You might see a higher horse power number but simply fitting a hi flow manifold on small turbo will...
Rule of thumb is transverse quattros are Haldex type, longtitudinal ones are torsen.
You need the rear diff to match your engine size and gearbox (5 or 6 speed).
There is nothing special about the BEX engine!
There are over 20 other 1.8T engines that will fit your car. Swap your turbo and injectors over and you are good to go!
The decat will go in place of your cat convertor so you can still refit it come MOT time. It wont pass MOT with the decat fitted. If you aren't handy with the tools maybe a decat is not a good option as you will have swap it out once a year for MOT.
Every engine is different, they will map it...
No problem.
Just posted in another thread there. Best way to make the car quicker would be decat for the exhaust (full system not required unless you are going bigger turbo), panel filter (K&N, ITG, Piper), Diverter valve (forge) and then remap.
Standard clutch should be fine if it is tuned...
First mod for these and best bang for buck is decat. £80 or so will get you a faster spooling turbo and much better throttle response.
Panel filter all the way, cone is pointless unless you want induction noise. There are people using the stock airbox with panel fitler and GT28 turbos never...
there are only a hand full of engine codes for the a4 and passat 1.8T. Once you get a TIP for longtitudinal engine with K03/s it will fit.
A TIP from a 1.8T golf/leon/a3 etc wont fit as the engine is transverse and the turbo configuration is different.
Are you 100% sure the ECU cover is fully sealed against the housing. 99% of the time this is the cause of water getting down into the drivers footwell.
To remove the ECU housing cover the front wipers need to be removed and then the cowling at the bottom of the windscreen. This then gives you...
