I currently have 1.0 TSi DSG Sportback Sport. Looking on Audi website can't seem to get this configuration now. Seem to only have diesel and 1.5 petrol autos. Is this correct? Shame because this is a dream combo for me. 0-62 in 9.8 secs and 58 mpg on a decent run on mainly motorways.
People probably won't want to hear this but I've just put Chinese Autogreen front tyres from National on my A3 Sportback. These are highly rated in reviews and rated better than some mainstream tyres. So far really impressed, quieter than my previous Continentals and seem to have great traction...
Sport trim but I also specified the softer SE suspension (I was told that was the default on the Sport trim and you had to specify the harder). Whether they did that or not of course I can't be sure!
So I've been driving my first Audi for 12,000 miles now, coming from the not vastly different 1.2TSi DSG Seat Leon. SO starting with the good points:-
The engine is marvellous. Powerful, punchy, quiet and that's without utilising the 'S' mode on the auto box. Economy is best of any non hybrid...
I find the 1.0TSi engine amazing in my A3 Sportback (Sport) tronic. Always seems plenty powerful without even using S mode on auto box. I get 56-58 mpg on long motorway drives including various speed restrictions, varying traffic but always trying to stay under 80 mph. Around town and urban/...
Just to add to this, now I have done about 3500 miles I am finding the car very economical, more so than the 1.2TSi in my Leon, both being autos. There is a large range depending on precise types of drives, this being about 46-60 mpg. I would say on a typical longish journey it is at least...
Must be something with that version. I've got the standard suspension on my A3 1.0TSI Sportback Sport trim S-tronic and I find the suspension a bit on the hard side if anything on the 17" wheels. Mind you how I want to drive and feel at 67 is probably different to you at 190 BHP!
I'm amazed more people don't buy plug-in hybrids. I've just got a 1.0 auto A3 Sportback which is very good, over 50mpg on a run but my wife has a Toyota Yaris hybrid. Only cost 14 grand new and does 60 mpg on short 3 mile journeys into town which is the majority of journeys. Even a small diesel...
Hi - well I was hoping that the delivery would be before the deadline once I saw on the Audi website that it was at the Port mid-March. But the dealer had said mid-April when I ordered it in January so it was more hope than expectancy really. Sometimes you just have to swallow - or blame the...
There is no "**** up". That is how the new road fund licence works from April 1st. It applies to all new cars registered after that date. Cars registered before then remain in the old tax bands indefinitely as things stand, but of course that could change in the future.
I'm still not sure if people have thought about how this is going to unfold. To me (having just missed the cut off date) the financial implications are high. Firstly my new A3 1.o TSI will cost £420 over three years to tax as opposed to £60 had it been a week older. Now when I come to sell it...
I thought I'd pass on my early impressions on this probably not that common combination. There were three main reasons why I went for the smallest engine: The first was cost then the low tax band and the third was hopefully the best economy for my type of driving. Well the second one got blown...
My experience was that after it was built it was showing as in transit to the port. I was quite excited because it looked like it would make the new road tax deadline. In the event it took three weeks from that point to arrive in the UK and another two days to get to the dealers and I missed the...
