My A5 3.0TDI manual gives me an average of 35mpg town and country combined, and will give a trip average of 43mpg on a decent motorway run.

Bit confused... The earliest A5 would be an 07 plate! Dunno how come you could have a 55 other than a private plate. Regarding the fault... Is it a petrol or diesel. I know that diesels switch to a 'protected mode' when, for example, the DPF is clogged (there might be other faults that do this...

Haven't had mine remapped or chipped as I haven't seen the need. The performance of this engine in stock form is phenomenal, and quite enough for the roads / journeys I do. OK, if you were taking your car to track days and such, then a remap might be fun. But my car has to be a reliable cruiser...

As long as your A5 has a minimum of Bluetooth Phone prep Low, then it should work as hands free just fine with any bluetooth phone (tried several with mine - no problems). Where people start to find issues is with SIM profiles etc for enhanced functionality.

What you are describing is the effect of wide, low profile sports tyres on snow. It's like driving on four hockey pucks! Having Quattro, as I do on mine, helps immensely, but still have the same handicap of the tyres. Traction control is really geared toward maintaining control at higher speeds...

Add Interior Light Pack, Bluetooth and Auto Dimming RVM for me. Your basic list seems pretty close though.

There is such a spec as S-Line Special Edition, which is not to be confused with the plainer SE.

My understanding is that the reader in the car is SDHC format, and I have heard tell of folks using 32Gb cards with no problem. There may be an issue with card capacity and MMI version though (max amount of titles / folders), so you might need to get some advice on that, as 32Gb cards are still...

You might like to try A5 Owners Club (Audi A5 Forum & Audi S5 Forum - A5/S5 Owners Club), who have a larger concentration of A5 owners present. They may respond more quickly for that reason, or may even have that topic covered.
