First thing should be a good service. I had my oil pump fail because it had been stood drove it for 100 miles and sludge blocked the oil pick up pipe. I'd also do a sump clean and clean out the oil pick up pipe if I were you. Do a haldex service. Just generally keep an eye out for any weird...

My car is tapping like mad. I've done oil pump and pick up. Next up is vvt unit but I reckon there's a bad lifter as it can barely idle on start up after being stood a day or two. I'd like to just get rid of as much remaining sludge while I'm there and I'm tempted to try this. Sounds good to me?

Iv bought a donor head for the vvt unit because my car is rattling it's nuts off between 1-2k revs. Since buying the head and seeing which way around it goes the rattle sounds as though it's coming from the opposite side from the chain? Any ideas?
