Sorry to all the ppl who have messaged me and I haven’t got back to you.
I’ve been in hospital, not the dreaded Rona, I’ve got a medical condition that put me to bed for a few weeks. Anyway, I’m almost back on my feet now so will start pulling the car apart over the next couple weeks, as and...
I'm breaking my 2007 Stage 2+ K04 A4 TFSI Quattro (B7 model) Special Edition (BUL engine code). With all the mods I have for sale the car made a reserved 340 bhp, if it had forged rods/pistons it could have achieved between 370-380bhp. Lots of the parts will fit other 2.0 TFSI engines in the...
What engine is in your car?
I note you say you have changed your thermostat and water pump recently. Has the problem occurred since they were changed or was it happening before?
I’d be inclined to check that both are sealed properly. If not you could be pulling air into the system which could...
Paddle shift extensions arrived today.
Couple of pics cus you know, we love pics:
One on, on off, for comparison
Both on
Closer shot
I think they look pretty good considering they were less than £30. It’s just a shame the b8 S4 didn’t come with a flat bottom steering wheel.
Will prob be...
I can’t remember how much I paid for the valve cover. Think it was a valio or something like that.
I do run a catch can but it doesn’t help with oil consumption. It just catches blow by and stops it recirculating through the combustion cycle
The valve cover is another problem part on the TFSI. After changing my turbo I was still having a slight oil consumption issue.
I Was still going through a litre of oil in around 900-1000 miles. Changed the valve cover and that solved it until the gaskets on the vacuum pump went then I was back...
I’ll still be involved in conversations, just won’t be a b7 owner anymore.
It’s a shame cus I really like the car but the need of 2 decent sized reliable family cars is bigger than my need for a track car
I wish I could get 45 mpg!
The b7 averages 27-29. The S4 is 24 mpg.
I suspect the brakes on your new car are the same as the TFSI Special Edition - 320mm discs
The Mrs drove the S4 recently and decided she now wants a newer car too, which means the b7 track car idea is a no go.
She wants something bigger, a Q5 or Tiguan, but that means I need to free up some money and space on the driveway.
So, I don’t have the time or patience to repair the oil and...
The 3.0 TDI is a great engine and really quick when mapped, loads of torque.
Ive got an s-tronic gearbox in my new car and I really like it. Very reserved and relaxed when in drive but mental when in sport, and the paddle shift is fun but takes some getting used to as I’ve also always had...
Personally I’d stay away from the Chinese ones.
I believe that was what my K04 hybrid was cobbled together from and it lasted less than a year. Admittedly it was machined out to fit a larger compressor but the build quality and seals etc were awful.
