    Fault codes

Thanks bud. I'm really hoping it is just the thrust bearing.

That was my first thought but it's completely quiet when pedal pressed which is the opposite symptom isn't it?

    Fault codes

Hello guys. I'm new to A1's as I previously had A3's and A4's. I took a gamble on a 2011 1.4 TFSI with a stretched chain which I have rectified with some engine surgery. After running a scan on VCDS (gen cable) I was left with a few codes. Wednesday,26,April,2023,17:58:41:31934 VCDS -- Windows...

Ah I just found one 2 hours ago! Thanks for the reply. They dont stick around long. I'm guessing they cost a fortune from the steamer.

    Wanted A3 3.2 Exhaust

Hi there. Does anyone have a rear exhaust (after cats) for a 2004 A3 3.2 Quattro for sale. Mine came with a stainless rear section and no rear silencer and I think I'm going deaf from the drone inside the cabin! :smug:

    3.2 Timing chain replacement.

Update: Engine out and setting timing. With camshaft locking bar inserted the crankshaft mark has gone just under 2cm past its mark. I checked it several times. Just saw a setup video where the guy says this isnt unusual and to make a new mark!!! I just wondered if anyone had come across this...

    3.2 Timing chain replacement.

Yeah I had considered clutch but im not clear on weather you buy a full assembly or you can buy a servicing kit? With regards the sealant, I started stripping the car down today and the sump gasket looks suspiciously like white silicone??? Its not leaking but I cant imagine the main dealer did that!

    3.2 Timing chain replacement.

On another note im facing the dilemma of weather or not to change the DMF. I dont have any issues but whilst the box is out i thought it might make sense. From what ive read the clutch is pretty reliable if DSG oil changes are done. Has anyone got experience of DMF issues on a 3.2?

    3.2 Timing chain replacement.

Think I have something similar from a previous job and ECP list Dirko S HT paste for gaskets but I take your point that its going to be pretty crap to have to take the engine out again if it does not seal.

    3.2 Timing chain replacement.

So with the prospect of spending a lot of time at home with the current world crisis, I thought it was time to change the Timing chains on my 2004 3.2 quattro DSG. Im putting together the tooling and spares and I think a head gasket set gives me all the seals for the timing case but, when...

    Dreaded hesitation

So after a trip to the main dealer and a TPI done, the car no longer hesitates and drives so much better. Still need to make a decision on chain replacement but thanks to everyone for the advice.

    Dreaded hesitation

So after another discussion with the local dealer, I believe they have talked to another dealer and can now offer me the update! It took a while and im under no illusions that this is the whole solution but, one thing at a time. The advice is brilliant so thanks to everyone.

    Dreaded hesitation

I got all the numbers for the TPI and the software cd part number but my local dealer and Audi UK just deny it ever existed. Im on original software and DJAlix pointed me towards an indy in plymouth but, they also couldnt help. Yeah I think VCDS quotes +8 to -8. It was showing -9 but its since...

Thanks Paddy. I thought that might be the case. Like you say it's how far to go.
