I had one of my power steering pipes break a couple of months back and after replacing it and bleeding the system a few times I've still got whining. There's no leaks from the rack or banjos so thinking of replacing the pump. Is there a guide about? It looks like only a few bolts but more...
I'm having the same sort of symptoms, battery dying within about 4 days and fans spinning up intermittent with air con off. Don't really want to take loads of stuff off to get to controller, but would give me a chance to paint my hard boost pipes by the FMIC. Can you get at it by removing the...
Firstly this was the most seized end/lock nut I've ever come accross, secondly the allen key hole in the bolt part disintegrated so I couldn't get it off. In my wisdom I partially cut through the bolt hole whilst leaving plus gas to soak into the lock nut. The lock nut was having none of it and...
I think you'll struggle to get the deeper type for a reasonable price, when I was looking they were easily over £50. I still stand by the welding method if you know anybody with a welder. If not, if you know anyone with RAC cover they carry a Dynomec tool, it'll remove any kind of locking...
I've not been able to get the best look at it but on ETKA one pipe goes from a banjo at the rack, over the subframe (where it's P clipped) then after a short run changes to rubber pipe then is hose clipped to a hard pipe that doubles back on itself once. The other pipe runs from U-bend at the...
I found a leak in the return pipes for the PAS, in the hard pipe, just before the p clip before the rack. Will I be ok to cut out the damaged pipe work and replace with high pressure hose, or is that likely to shoot off the remaining hard pipe at the first sign of pressure? I've seen barbed...
A slightly smaller socket hammered over and an impact gun is usually the easiest and most successful method but you might struggle with clearance with it being a female spline type so could damage the paint on the wheel hole. Failing that weld a nut/bolt/socket to it, but again going by the...
If you do want to remove the sheared bolt I had all 3 go on my gearbox mount and used the following method to get it out; I soaked the bolts in release oil the day before. I then blow torched them a little (low heat), release oil again, then I put a washer over the remains of each bolt then...
They are available but extremely rare. Most that say they will fit, won't. You need to get an A4 one and have to remove a few mm off the sides and bottom to get it in. Took me about half an hour with a Dremel for a decent fit, about an hour to get it almost perfect.
