When I was little circa 1972 my dad when shopping for a classic car to tinker with. He bought a '55 T-Bird for $2000. However a few weeks later was offered a ~65 289 Corba for $3000. He figured the Thunderbird would be worth more later as it was older and my Mom liked it. Years later he was...
While driving in town my clutch pedal went to the floorboard. I noted a little piece of broken plastic and actually felt it break! I was told it was a part of the linkage and need a whole pedal assy; ~ £120 total. Does this make sense? Is this common? I bet it would be an easy fix for me...
I just fitted a set of EBC grooved discs with EBC Red stuff. These were recommended by EBC so, I went with them. The car does stop better, but I would have thought it better! I have done many brakes jobs myself before, but this time let a local Audi Specialist do it. They are pretty good...
My S3 has started to make a funny beeping when making a turn. The beep starts when I use my indicators and is highly annoying!! I have checked all of the bulbs etc ... any ideas how to fix this?

It starts to beeping when indicating a right or left turn. Strange? It just started doing it. I have looked at all of the bulbs. Maybe I missed something, obvioiusly.:faint:
Ok, here's a stupid question. When I just my indicator my S3 has recently started beeping....? I have checked the lights, I don't have a manual so can anyone help? I know there is an obvious answer, but its missed me.

Why don't you try bleeding them yourself? Do you have someone that can help you? Its real easy. Old school way, you and a mate open vlv and press pedel. SHUT before you depress the pedel all the way. There's a little more to it.... Or buy a pressure bleeder. They are pretty cool, or...
I just read the tyre test in EVO, which used New Golf GTI's. Since its a similar car power wise to my S3, I read with great interest. The new Goodyear F1 Assymmtric did very good. HOWEVER .... tye used 17's wheels for the testing. Then at one point they mounted a set of tyres on the 18"ers...
:sadlike: It will have to be emissions tested. I know beccause I tried to ship my Kawasaki (UK bike) into the states when I relocated!! Its the same bike as the one in the US! It was standard too. The people that do this basicly rape you. At that time it was $4,000 to do this. That was a...
How did you get on with the brakes? Sorted yet? I have seen calipers that do not set square (enough for me) to the disc when placed on the caliper bracket. I have used shim stock or enough a cut beer can to shim the mounting bolt and thus square the whole thing up. Its accepted practice...
I love the car and your work! What benefit in terms of bhp would I get with your exhaust and tubular header? I have a stock car, non-chipped. Also do you sell that alloy gear knob, its neat and mine is worn. How easy or difficult is it to replace.
By the way I am looking for a set of 18"...
Hmm, I have used brakes lathes and lathes for that matter. And I have done many a brake job ... Other than saving you from taking the disc off I really fail to see the advantage of the on car brake lathe. In fact I would rather use a standard brake lathe for runout measurement. One thing that...
Has the timing belt, water pump, tensioner etc. NOT been done yet? Its getting time. I take it thats what the price of the "service" was for? I tend to OVER maintain a car, the price of being an engineer ..:blow:
