As s3facelift09 says reset your RNSE. Hold RADIO and SETUP buttons for five seconds and let the unit reboot.

Have you tried resetting your RNSE. Press and hold the radio and set up buttons for about 5 seconds and it'll reset the sat nav.

You should have your recommended tyre pressure settings on a label inside the fuel filler cover or inside drivers door. Also should be in your handbook. Tyre shop settings seem low to me.

If you've changed the PCV, there could still be an air leak some where. Check all the rubber hoses, check coils, MAF sensor, plugs, injectors, or could be fuel problem(bad fuel). Would be good if you could hook it up to VCDS and see what is happening.

If you or you know anyone with access to a VCDS lead and Ross Tech I would first try and reset the gearbox. Its free and takes about 10 minutes to do, then see if the fault still exists. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/6-Speed_Direct_Shift_Gearbox_(DSG/02E)

All I can say is good luck fella with your 'experiment'. I'd be changing my oil every 3,000 miles to keep engine temps down. Enjoyed reading the thread though.

Looks much better. Not a fan of lowering cars usually but have to agree with you on that one.

I used a firm on Ebay and found them very helpful with sizing items in Renaissance Rims n Tyres store on eBay! and eventually bought some rotor alloys off them. Very good quality alloys and no problems with fitment.

Agree with mjr901-go for replacing the PCV valve first thing. Nine times out of ten it's that.

You might be better off getting both wheels painted on the one side if you can't get a correct code but most good wheel refurbishers should be able to get a match.
