my 2009 A4 TFSi parking sensors and camera have been playing up recently, until it finally packed in last month.
The car was in at Audi for an MOT so I asked them to check it out. The reported back that a new sensor was required - with paint, it would come to £420.
I used the part code on the...
Audi explained to me to expect a slight drop in oil as the new parts bed in - perfectly normal and to be expected.
And sure enough, mine dropped one segment after 900 or so miles!! Topped it up with the one litre Audi provided and its not moved since.
Don't worry about it.
Well, thought I'd investigate the fault today. Before doing so, I soaked the car in snow foam and gave it a good wash.
Then went to look at sensors........and what do you know, no fault!! Working fine.
So, today's top tip?
Car broken? Wash it first. You never know.....
Just when I get the engine issue fixed, something else goes wrong!!
I have parking assist advanced with reversing camera- tonight it stopped working! Just beeps solid with a flashing light on the button - no picture at all.
Any ideas for the cause?
****** Audi....
When mine was in for new Pistons etc, Audi identified my steering knock as a worn "intermediate steering shaft." They also replaced it as a goodwill gesture - knock gone and steering tighter and more accurate than its been for years!!!
Hahaha, that actually made me laugh out loud!!
A totally honest description of a visit to Edinburgh Audi! And yes, very OTT and unnecessary but I don't mind sipping their coffee as I enjoy the "views"........
