If the coolant level hasn’t moved it’s unlikely and would smoke all the time. They can easily test by putting the emissions tester in the coolant bottle and checking for hydrocarbons

The guy I used was £350 for a refurb but you could take a punt on an eBay one some people have said the got a £150 ko4 015 and have never had a problem

300 is the most I will go as my turbo can only do that and just spent £570 on it so I think this kit is the way to go. The guy who built my exhaust does remaps and said I didn’t even need an intercooler to go stage 2 so this has got to be ok

I got the bottom but from underneath with a ratchet and a couple of extensions. Had to remove driveshaft seal to get it out. It did help that my exhaust had snapped off at flexi so took it out with cat

If that’s what’s going on then new turbo of refurb. I used it as an excuse to get a hybrid turbo with billet wheel so can do up to just over 300bhp
