    Brake Pad advice

I think the ferodo gets a bad rep cause they are expensive. £200+ for a set of pads is like almost double others like ebc and they can sometimes be difficult to find for cars that aren’t very common/popular. Can’t argue the pound per performance the ebc is right up there and I would say the...

    Brake Pad advice

Dust never bothered me as long as the brakes do their job well. Found the ds2500 was more consistent from cold to hot compared to the red stuff. Would rather have dusty brakes than sh1t brakes. Brakes are kinda like tyres and are subjective. Some folk love some and other hate.

    Brake Pad advice

My go to was ferodo ds2500 for fast road/odd track days. Never been a fan of red stuff, tried in some of my previous cars and would say they are not as good as the ds2500 but they are like half the price of the ferodos. If I remember right there’s also a license losing bedding in procedure...

    S3 LEAVES TOMORROW......

Doubt you will lose your deposit. They failed to deliver in time. Would argue that with bank/credit card company and get your money back if they try to be a pain. In my experience Audi isn’t the quickest for a factory order. I waited over 9 months for one was meant to be a 3 month wait. there...

    Brake Pad advice

If you are changing disc change the pads as well. False economy not to do it while it’s apart. Judging by your pic the discs looks pretty corroded, rusty lip on inner and out parts of the discs which would mean the pads will scored like that so reusing the pads will ruin new discs. Try autodoc...

    Brake Pad advice

Brembo , trw, ate and loads more are oe manufacturers. My personal preference has always been trw for oe quality stuff, they always including fittings, new bolts, shims and some include sensors. Make sure the discs have some kind of coating on it as the really cheap discs don’t and get that...

Gang tried to car-jack my S3 today!

Mate is a prison warden and he says the same folk come in and it’s like a holiday camp with one even admitting he does it to get away from the mrs. We are a bit too easy on criminals. I remember I did some work for a juvenile detention centre 15-20 years ago and I was shocked how easy they got...

    The inevitable

Done it quite a few times with my old Porter cable(DA) and hand polished around smaller areas but it’s been a while so things might have moved on a bit. Results were always good though. Part of me wants to do it myself and get the tools but other part don’t want to spend hours on my hands and...

    I Upgraded My S3 to AWD – L.P

Seems to be a common problem with these haldex cars. Either not serviced or the filter/gauze not cleaned during service. Mines starting to show symptoms of wheel spin when coming out of junctions now and again where it didn’t do it before. Luckily all under warranty.

    The inevitable

Well I think I have delayed it enough. So far I have managed to keep light scratches and swirls hidden with AG radiant wax but I think it’s time to machine polish the car. The ag has has been good but after a few washes the swirls and marks show back up Seems to be a bit of marring/hologram on...

Gang tried to car-jack my S3 today!

It’s good they got caught but 18 years between 4 of them that’s 4.5 years a piece so probably be out in 3 for good behaviour probably less cause their age is not enough for the trauma they put folk through. Would have thrown away the key myself. Think it’s time we brought back capital...

    Facelift Stuck brake disc

Hammer never fails. Think it’s a vag thing that hub getting rusty probably doesn’t help on the RS that’s there’s holes around the disc to let more water in. Every one of my vag cars the wheels get stuck on the hub and requires a bit of force to get off and that’s with greasing the hubs before...

    Facelift Stuck brake disc

I’ve had the retainer screw break and leave a bit inside but still enough to hold the damn thing in place. Lots of cursing, drilling, hammering to sort. Careful with the heat, wd40 is flammable

    Facelift Stuck brake disc

Hammer, heat or both I think. Looks like the holes in the hub part of the disc can let in a lot of water so probably corrosion/rust between hub and disc. Sometimes a quick tap with a hammer will break the bond in the rusty surfaces so you might not need to bash it like there’s no tomorrow. It’s...

Parking sensor and on screen help needed.

Factory module should sit just above accelerator pedal not in the rear. Can you see the part number of your module?
