G'day, I'm a grumpy old Aussie. Born in England, lived in Aust. 50+ years and have Aust. citizenship. Married to an Aussie girl for 30+ years.
I'm a bit of a revhead and was an official at motor racing for many years, incl. 10 Bathurst 1000's and Adelaide/Melbourne F1 GP's.
I have a basic phone and do not SMS, facebook or tweet.
Bought our new B9 S4 Avant 2 weeks ago. Even though already clocked 2200kms, still trying to get this old head around all the technology. Since ordering it in mid-March and watched it travel on a carship half-way around the world, via marine traffic.com, have looked in on this site, as not too many B9 S4's in Aust. I see you have a couple of Aussies already.
Formerly had 4 x Subaru Liberty/Legacy wagons. Last was a beautiful '08 turbo 'Tuned by STi', modded with bigger WRX turbo, down pipe, gorgeous HKS 3" system, suspension & brake upgrades to 212kw 'atw'. Unfortunately, a truck punched the tailgate against the back seat, a week before we ordered the S4. It was a write-off. I was alone in it and uninjured, due mainly to its quality build. Did not want another Subaru as I find them very dull now.
We tested a Merc-AMG C43. Louder exhaust noise, but enhanced thru the speaker system, unlike the S4. However, for driveability and quality/finish the S4 was a no-brainer.
