LCR's are seriously good value for money compared to S3's, infact I cant think of a single reason to get a s3 over an LCR :unsure:

ah yeah, recaros, LCR seats are a bit crap. Downsides to s3:

* bit of a fatty
* gayboy haldex
* slightly worse ecomomy

I love my S3, eve though she is a bit of a porker. I do love 4WD though, will struggle to drive anything else these days.

The recaros are rare, not as nice as the S3 ones but better than the standard sports seats in the cupra r. And as for reason to get an S3 over a Cupra R (I do like the cupra R dont get me wrong) leather interior, nicer interior material , i know they share the same dash but its not as nice. I didnt think the haldex was gay when we had all that snow. They both understeer when pushed too so its not like it handles any better, the leon is a 5 door, when I need 5 doors im getting an estate (although the best looking 5 door id say)
 
i have found quite a lot of 53/03 plates and newer that have leather recaros, sat nav as standard. Im not looking at older ones so maybe its the newer ones that get those options. Im also liking the dual climate control, Brembos and 18" wheels as standard.
 
patience is the key and helps when 'discussing' the price
 
Yep im in no rush to buy the first 1 i see. there are so many in the midlands tho. Either way ill be travling for it which i dont mind.

I give you one reason to choose an S3. RAIN!, lots of it in this country not too long ago.

Had a little play with a LCR between a few roundabouts, I slowed down to let him catch up, and he asked if I wanted to sell my car to him at the next lights! I could pull away out of roudabouts exits due to the 'quattro'. :racer:
 
Never seen one with leather reacros or duel zone climate control, I thought the mk1 leon only came with single zone climate control?

Heated mirrors, thats standard on the s3 and the A3 isnt it, and heated washer jets, I know the Cupra R have folding mirrors as standard, something the S3 doesnt have although some german models might of had it as an option.

Dont believe everything you read, he says recaro interior which it isnt and says 17inc alloys when there 18s on the Cupra R
 
all LCR`s have recaros. go look on pistonheads fella thay cant all be lieing??

duel climate i have no idea about. the LCR alloys are 18`s but i think they done a 17" option as Audi did on the RS4 rims. :)

i had a similar scenario in the dry Jo..... lights changed and we both planted it, trouble was we were flooring it round a sharp bend onto the main carriageway...next lights the kid put the window down laughing and said 'jammy sod, quattro' - and that was CC'd Leon (stickers all over it)

are we really comparing an S3 with a Leon :)

Ok ok ive stopped laughing but seriously, the cars were priced and hold their values for very different reasons....yeah the Leon can be made quicker, it has brembo's etc..... but put it against the S3 in terms of quality in materials used, our recaro's versus the Leon ones.....not a prayer....it was the price it was new for a reason, no point in sitting there trying to justify it to yaself, it will always be a middle VAG range motor

that said i do love the Leon R's especially the 18" wheels and brembos.... and would have one if i didnt have my S3...would i swap? id cut my arm off first
