Can I ask where you got the information above from? Is there a link to this you can provide? I have ordered through a leasing company (through work car scheme) and they seem to know nothing about the changes.

I have not had a build date confirmed, so it sounds like I will be getting an MY11 car (due early August). I would like to get some clear answers as to how my car will turn up when it is delivered. Not sure I like the changes, and that is not the car I ordered. Hmm.

Thanks in advance.

Argh! the pictures wont load on my mac..

I called my dealer and he just didnt get back to me today. Will be scanning the net for some images of the 18" wheel's.

Good knowledge though thanks.

I was speaking to a guy at work today, he said he ordered a A3 2.0 TDi 170 BE 12 weeks ago and the dealer still can't give him a delivery date. He's upset now because all they can tell him is that it won't be a face lifted model!

They also said if you order one now, you won't get it until October at the earliest!

And here are the 19" in the dark colour, if there going to put the date back like that then think im going to have to be an angry young man for a while.

Glad i have a day off tomorrow, might go see them.

I like the look of the alloys in the pictures. But any pictures of them on an A3?

The dealer sent me this information, but the pic's won't load. Anyway he as told me pop in tomorrow and will run thorugh all the changes and show me the new wheels. Will take some pic's.

If he still can't get a delivery date the chance are that they have not built it yet and if so it will almost be a facelift (MY11) because my dealers told me they should start building MY11 any day now.

Looking at the 19" version i can imagine what they would look like on a sportback and its kinda growing on me. going to have to get the photoshop out when i get some time.

Where are you at Diamond, what dealership? just so i can give my local one a kick if they dont know anything.

Good work that does look good, can you pop them on a ibis sportback? think im pretty sold on them anyway but would be cool.

oh good man! your just showing off now with the grass over the rim lol!!

Looks good, much appreciated.

Shocking how?

Cant be as bad as when i took my Ed30 in last, i came out with a Fox!!

Been down to my dealers today. He show me the new wheels but they were on a TT-RS and were 19" but he asured me that they are going be the same as on the new BE but 18" instead. I much prefer the new ones as the old ones are quite common now.

Also told me that any A3 built now would be MY11.

DSC00944.jpg

I doubt they'll put 19"'s on and A3 , never have yet. TT-RS yes, even TT-S or S3 as an option, but never on an A3. The darker ones look good though.

Audi do tend to "overdo" their alloys, RS6 5 spoke ended up on every S Line, now the RS4 7 spoke twin arm is on every model, silver and anthracite. The TT-RS wheel could be going the same way it seems. It's a good looking wheel like, but everyone will have a set in time. Just my opinion though.

Yeah he did tell me that they were going be 18" instead of 19" show in the pic.

Likewise, my dealer said the same.

One thing he said was that there was going to be a price increase, but assured me that mine was price locked already. might be worth checking with your orders that they are not trying to charge you more!

Lol..... that was the first thing i ask him and he promised me that the price increase will not affect me and as of new car orders place up til 23rd May.

My BE is due to be built in a couple of weeks and I have been told that it will definately be an MY10, I was also told that any ordersplaced now will have an oct delivery.

Dare I say the new wheels could look just a bit "Aftermarket"? :undwech:

They remind me a bit of the ones on my old RX8. You had to keep them as clean on the inside of the wheel as the outside, because everything's so visible behind the widely spaced spokes, including the puny brake discs on all but the top models..

After spending half an hour with the dealer today. We look at all the change that MY11 will have on A3 BE.

MY11 A3 Black Edition Changes:
  • 2.0 TDI (170PS) engine now with start-stop technology
  • New diffuser for the rear bumper
  • Aluminium for rear view mirror adjustment and power window controls
  • Air vent trim edge in high gloss black
  • New S tronic gear lever
  • 18-inch ‘5-arm rotor’ design in titanium finish alloy wheels
  • Technology package now standard ( S3 Black Edition)
  • High gloss black B-pillars
  • New side mirrors
  • Darkened Taillights (3 Doors only)
I placed my order on 14th April and still waiting for a build slot. Dealer told me that my will defo be MY11 and will be surpised if i didn't get a built date by the end of the month. But we will see....

When I placed my order in March they said delivery would be late april/early may......... I think dealers are sometimes very economical with the truth

What is your built date they have given you? if you don't mind me asking. Also which dealership is this?

I order mine end of March, and have also been told, after a lot of pestering, that my car will definitely me an MY11. I have come round to the alloys. Darkened taillights also sound ok. Really not sure about the high gloss black air vent trim. Talk about finger print and smudge magnet!

Sounds ok that really, will miss out on the smoked tail lights as mine a SB but hey ho..

Petoz just make sure you have some handy wipes for after your chips then chap lol...

Pretty much the same I was told. I ordered in mid-Feb and told it would be mid/late May. At this point I have not got a build date and no real clue on when I can expect a car except for late July which is looking more and more unlikely. Annoyed is an understatement.

Picked up my 3 door BE yesterday (ordered 25th February).
Went for the 140 tdi with metallic black paint, comfort pack, technology pack, smokers delete, rear badge delete and alcantara seats.

I love it.
Looks absolutely spot on (by the way I'm not buying it that anyone thinks those new wheels are better; they'll make the car look less mean), is economical, very high standard of quality and kit inside and out.
Might not be the fastest out the blocks, but has plenty of poke once going.

Aberdeen Audi are a dealer I can recommend highly.
