Widebody S4 Saloon :)

Nice one nez, looks a good job... whats the total damage?

GO WIDER!! you know you want to!

looks very smart

Looking beauuuutiful there Nez, excellent stuff....... go on spill..... whats the damage? I need an excuse to say YES and do mine....:)

I'm LOVING the bodywork. Just not feeling the rims. Personal choice though!

I think the colour accentuates the new bulging curves very nicely. :icon_thumright:

Thanks guys for all the commen's :) car will come to GTI Show and about the front wings at the moment the wheels don't cover it much but once I get 235/40/18 tyres it should look good :)

Amazing looking car
All I need to do now is talk the Mrs into selling a kidney

I think brushed alloy rims would look great against the color of the bodywork

need colour coded centre caps IMO

Right, thats it, i'm selling the S3 and buying a S4!

Nez, I saw your car at GTI Spring Fest yesterday and I have to say it looks very impressive.. nice tidy finish!

Looked good going down the 1/4 mile too mate :icon_thumright:

******. Missed it going down the strip!

Looked nice on the stand.

ooh i guess your car wasnt on the stand then? or i missed it

Yeah it wasn't as quick on the strip as I expected with that sort of power but it still looked sexy as **** doing it!

how come i didnt see his car then???? was he with us or parked somewhere else?

The couple runs i saw it only did mid to high 14sec passes. I would have expected a remapped S4 to be in the 13's at the least, aiming for a 13 flat or high 12 for a well fettled example like his...
the reality of it is though is its going to depend on how much mechanical sympathy you have that day and i wouldnt have the nuts to launch my s4 hard as i dont think i have the competence yet to fix a whole reem of driveline issues

It was supposed to be with you guys as was Faz with hie White Rs4, and many others in fact

they could have been put off for the over an hour in the queue just to get to the stand

Even a granny'd start is only going to cost you half a second in a car with that much power imo. It should have been managing 13's even with a careful start.

The slowest time listed for an S4 on dragtimes.com is 14.0s and its an auto...

Hi guys sorry for getting late to sant pod I had very bad day I went to Aidan in the morning to sort out something and I get stick there until 2 clock and then I get to sant pod around 2:30 :( I parked the car in club stand but most of people was left :( then after 10min's I went to the track and done some runs and the topest time I get was 14.44 Sec's and top speed 101 Mph I was thinking to get around 13 Secs but I couldn't so it looks like something is not right with the car :( and it could be the clutch :( as I could feel it silping at the first gear :(

ye those times do seem low mate, so it might be an idea to get the car checked over. Perhaps somethings been disturbed during the rebuild?

LetsTorquebhp.com recons a standard S4 will do a 14.1 with a 98mph trap speed, and a mapped 340hp car should manage a 12.8 @ 109mph.

nez trap speed is 101mph. slow start then rocketed at the end

basically i dont think he "deathed" the gearbox enough off the line, and i dont blame him

Would take those figures with a pinch of salt. A few of us from AudiSRS went to Santa Pod back in September.

My best run was 12.8 @ 109mph and my K04'd S4 is running 415bhp and 440lb-ft. That was with 4K launches.
DavidT got a couple of 12.5's with gentle launches. He is running approx 440bhp/480lb-ft I think.

Interesting, i've always found it to be pretty accurate. It clocked the figures on my old nova almost spot on, and also the figures for some of the hotter vauxhalls i knew back in the day.

It recons 12.1@117 for 415hp and 1550kgs. DavidT's extra 25hp should only have netted him 0.2s, yet he managed 0.3s with gentle launches?

I guess its possible the S4 is infact heavier than 1550kgs? Anyone fancy looking on their build sticker and seeing what its listed as?

You aren't accounting for driver weight though and also not sure if the kerb weight only includes a certain amount of fuel, spare wheel, etc.

Also peak bhp is only a guideline. It's all about 'the area under the graph'. A turbo car will always hav more low-down torque than a NA car which both have the same peak power. The turbo car would be quicker. And there's also the increased drivetrain losses of the Quattro to consider.

Leon (Zerok66) managed a 12.4 in his 500bhp S4 and I think JohnnyB (JJB Motors) has just matched that in his 500bhp S4 the other weekend at York. I've yet to see someone in the UK crack 11's in a B5, and there are some high powered machines out there.
