Hi All,

As above which type of turbo do i have? is it a ko3 or a ko3s?

Details:

2000 A3 1.8T
first registered: 10/08/2000
engine: AGU255****
vin: WAU****L*YA******

dunno if the above help at all?

cheers

Isn't the K03s a hybrid uprated turbo?

If the car is standard, pretty sure it will be just the K03 . . .

ko3s is the one from the 1.8TQ (180) and the S3 i believe?

and also the cupra and 1.8t anniversary etc

oh and for some reasons some 1.8t agu's thats why i wanna know if mines one of them as they can be remapped higher than the normal 150's with the k03

they might do the facelift 225 ones anyway? not sure about the 210 ones. any s3 bods care to help? this is gettin messy lol

just found out the 225 engines have:

KKK K04-23 Turbo (different even from the 210hp motors which have KKK K04-01).

so the ko3s are the 180's and some 150bhp's. but which 150's :(

wow thats pretty cheap! whats the fitting like on those? need a few new pipes?

ko3 came on the AGU (remapped will just about get 200bhp), ko3s came on facelift (november 2000 onwards) AUM 1.8t 150 & 180 bhp models. (remapped will see 220bhp easily - like mine)

S3 & TT225 have ko4 :)

aww mark u spoiled my fun :(

thanks for the tips peeps. ill have to put up with 200bhp for a bit :D

150 to 200 will be a massive improvement, just as 225-265 brings the car alive!

What he said!! AGU engine like your also has the large port head.

i had 220 on the 1.8tq and now my 150 seems pants. was just hoping to get close to that again :)

all the same it will be better.

Excuse my lack knowledge but how will the larger port on the AGU help at all?

Not really as standard to be honest. The engine will gobble up most of the boost you can throw at it though.

Ultimately it produces better higher end power - but you trade off the lower down torque a little. Also, the AGU has a cable throttle.

Larger ports mean the intake ports are bigger...so more air. Not that it really matters on an AGU as the turbos only have so much puff.

However I have a KO3 on my car, Custom Code Phase 1 map, Forge TIP, induction kit and a stainless exhaust and its great to drive, really smooth. The map made it so much nicer to drive, you wont be dissapointed but if you get to the point I have you'll have to spend big bucks on getting a bigger turbo if you want more power. I'm happy with mine though so job done.
