How do you drive your Automatic in the snow/ice?

This is the first winter i've owned an automatic. What the best way to drive? I was thinking sport so you use the gears more? or just manual?

At least its a quattro automatic!

With my old S6 i had loads of fun in the snow

Just stay off the throttle and let the drive system do all the work until you get moving, then you will be ok.

Auto's not the best for snow and ice but be gentle with the accelerator and let the 'box figure it out. I've been using the manual mode lately but it doesn't make a great deal of difference...unless I want to do 'something'

I am the same, Just put into D and take feet off everything and let it get moving, then add some power...

Or if im on an empty, safe, car park - into 1st, tc off and boot it!

Personally I would always use manual. But then I drive my s-tronic using manual mode most of the time anyway.

quattro is great for traction on the move, but it doesn't help with braking in the snow. I made the mistake some years ago going up a hill in a 4x4, couldn't stop the thing once up to speed lol,
