Just seeking some opinion from the folks here.
Worth getting the options below?

  1. Panaromic Roof
  2. Magnetic Ride
  3. Audi Exclusive Bucket Seats

Curious to know how much of a difference does the Magnetic ride makes and also if after-market mod is cheaper/more worth.

Magnetic Ride is meant to be really good, not massive difference between the 2 modes. Buckets an ABSOLUTLE definite, and open sky, whether you like sunroofs or not!

Bucket seats are highly recommended mate

Panoramic roof looks awesome both from inside and out

Mag ride - I didnt notice any different on the test drives. I think its something you will appreciate over time

+1 on the bucket seats... can honestly say that they just make the s3 feel like a s car plus they're comfy as well. Pan roof no, sunroof yes and mag ride well can't really say as I've not driven one with it...
Would rather spend that money on other things like dimming mirrors or i pod prep.... :o.k:

Seats are a must....the Mag ride etc I wouldn't(and didn't) bother with

Buckets are fantastic - but expensive. I had them in my RS4 but just couldn't justify it on the S3. You'll get a little bit back when you come to chop it in but not £3600+

EDIT....Crap....I just realised that they are only £1665 in silk nappa. I'd been reading the exclusive leather cost. A call to the dealers tomorrow me thinks!!!!:sadlike:

I agree with boydee, I sat in the buckets while shopping and wasnt impressed. they arent very comfy IMO.
Can you have heating with the buckets?
They also make the back seats quite a mission to get into.

3. maybe but I sat in a set of buckets and didn't find them overly comfortable

You sure it wasn't this you sat on ?!

One might say that buckets also are not suitable for those with a larger than average rear end !! Or to put it less politely - not for fat a*ses!:rockwoot:

Buckets do come with heated seats.
I also agree that they arent suitable for Fat Bottomed Girls.
Also, Buckets make it slightly more awkward to get in and out of the seats.
However, uncomfortable is something they arent, imo, unless of course one is slightly "larger". I love the way the butterfly wings provide support around the shoulders!!! :)

I sat in mattandrews buckets and I just didnt find them overly comfortable - im pretty broad shouldered and having had surgery on my left shoulder so having it being pressed forward all the time wouldn't agree with me :(

I sat in mattandrews buckets, felt like being pressed forward all the time wouldn't agree with me :(

Boycie, next time let matt get out of the seat 1st  :lmfao:

Thanks for all the replies!
Seems like bucket seats are the overall favourites if you don't have a 'sizable ****'.

I know the bucket seat is leather wrapped but does it go around the back as well? Can you see the 'plastic' from the back of the seat? Would appreciate if anyone has a pic.

Anyone here has the magnetic drive? Would like to hear some opinions on that.

Have mag ride - definite difference in modes - sport is much harder than stock, normal mode a little closer to s-line. I use the split personalities a lot - me on my own on B road versus family bus mode. Does seem to improve the handling a little too - but not enough testing of the stock ride to be sure.

Buckets, I didn't bother as my dad has them in his RS4 and I find them hideous to sit in for anything over a five minute journey, as does the old man! They also dont wear at all well either, a number of people have reported bad wear within minimum mileage, its a combinatin of crap leather wrapped on hard seats and high bolsters. The seats look good, but thats about all, not important given the task they were meant for.

Magnetic Ride, it's ok, but a bit of a gimmick to be honest, but I ordered it anyway.

Panoramic Roof, well its a sunroof...I haven't gone for this, and not seen one in the flesh, i've heard they dont open as far as you'd expect, but they do look good on Ibis White.

1. no
2. no
3. maybe but I sat in a set of buckets and didn't find them overly comfortable

Personal opinion of course!

+1

Didn't spec any of the above.

Buckets will probably make the car easier to sell privately but, my dealer said he would not give any more part ex in 3 years for a car with buckets. Deciding factor was that I have a fat a*se so the S3 I test drove at another dealer which had buckets was not a pleasant experience.

I also think its worth bearing in mind that I reckon an S3 with buckets is more attractive to car theives than one without and I'm all for a stealth look rather than boy racer at my age:yes:

Daft question but is there a button that causes the buckets side bolsters to 'pull in' for extra lateral grip (as per the RS4)? Can't find any mention of it in the literature.
