just changed a set of front pads on the miss golf same calipers/ pads as the s3. The pads i used didnt have the brake warning indicator lead on it. I left the old connector on and sniped it off. Now the brake warning light is on the dash, is there any way to get rid of it? Im sure i remember everyone just snipping the wire off if not needed? Help Plz!!

Who's a silly boy then!! LOL

Assuming you cut the wires on the old pad, all you need to do is strip a bit of insulation off the wires you cut, twist them together and tape them up... bingo..

I went thru this dilemma

tuffty is right, that shud clear it off ur dash.

Mine is also like that - well, my plug was also shafted as well, so my top quality bodge is a paperclip bent into a 'U' and plugged into both pins with a bodge tape....

That's a cracking pikey mod. We should start a thread with all pikey modifications in it :)

LOL, yes we should! I'm a whizz with cable ties (quite simply THE best invention of the 20th Century)!

In my old car the entire radiator and all the fan cowlings were held in with cable ties.... I didnt mention that to the buyer.:undwech:

Brilliant! I'll remember never to buy a car from you ;)

I wouldn't buy a car from me either!! I've been a little better with the Audi in fairness, you're allowed to bodge Vauxhalls. The best bodgers in the world work at Ellesmere Port.... *cough*

Haha! I remember when I was on club-polo we had a similar thing. Got branded "Pikeytech", and turned into a how-to of bodges and ways round/solve common problems and issues.

Got me out of a few tight spots at any rate!

is this warning light the same as the ABS light?

cos mines been always on after a caliper change...

Yeah there was a pikey mod thread back in the day on the Renault Turbo Owners Club (RTOC).

Cable ties everywhere, in car bleed valves, ahh those were the days :blownose:
