Just had a new set of Mk2 RS6 Replicas fitted, they are 18X8 with an offset of ET32 fitted with 225/40 Tyres, so the spoke bend outwards making them look bigger.

Opinions welcome. :)

Pics was taken from my Nokia N95, so excuse the pic quality.

nice mate, from brum them wheels by any chance?

They look very nice

I have no idea why but I always thought your car was blue

Wow Jo, well done mate, they look spot on!!!

Thanks for all the positive feedback, I was only after new tyres aswell, but the deal was too good to turn down. :)

Possibly bring the front down a tad if your on coils?

I'm on OEM spec fresh shocks and -35mm springs, it's a daily hack with 168k miles on it, noway to coilovers.

They look pretty smart mate - definitely a break from the passat norm too :icon_thumright:

I'm sure that's been the story the past few times the Passat has had new shoes... So long as your Mrs believes you ;) - You can try "Spelling mistake on eBay - I had em for 99p" too :)

Hey Jo, saw this on the road the other day and it did look good, the wheels actually brought my attention to the car.

I was on my way to do some shopping, and how did you manage to fire that text to me whilst driving?

Fully loaded, guess where I went?

Very nice! Loving them alloys! Where did you get them and how much if you don't mind me asking?

Duh, what do you think the missus is for???

I dont partake in all the mobile while driving thing dude, especially now Nilz JR is here :)

I was going shopping as well, but in the other direction...lol

They are Nankangs, I need the tyres for mileage more than anything else on this car, so they are suitable for my needs, maybe pay the extra for a decent set of Avon ZZ3's if you like spirited driving.

How many miles do you think they'll last?

WHat's the ride quality like?

I just checked the wheelmania website and it doesn't seem to be the right one :S

I have been running replica rims with budget tyres on my Passat for the last 90k miles, and gone through enough setf of rims also, as I get a new set every time the tyres wear out, works out cheaper in the long run.

The Nankangs are suprisingly good riding and have good grip, I would have preferred Avon ZZ3's, but they only last 10k miles on my car. The last set of tyres was a set of DiamondBacks, aweful tyre, lasted 16k miles and all still legal, they we're very firm riding and would wheelspin in 3rd gear if there was a hint of damp on the roads, never again!!! I've also had Cooper Avons and Marshalls off the top of my head, which we're both ok, but these Nankangs are pretty good, I've done over 500 miles already since last week.

The Wheelmania site only advertise their posh rims, I went in store and paid cash for my deal, plus the guy that works there probably sorted me out, as he knows me from before. Go to eBaY and search '18 rs6' and it will bring up similar deals, then pay the ectra for branded tyres if you really want a set.

Mine came from Wheelmania too, same price but with 'Lexani' tyres...whoever they are!!. Still, 6k miles on them and they're actually not too bad at all which shocked me.

Only issue I had was crap centre caps....just badly fitted stickers so I got some OEM ones :)

I had Nankang NSII tyres on my A4 and for a while and for a budget tyre, I have to say I was very impressed with them, the grip onn them was pretty decent too....

Hmmmm, seems pretty good. Looks like I'll be getting a new set of alloys when my current tyres need replacing!

I've had Michelin Pilot Sports on since 60k miles and now on 76k but at 74k miles they had 4mm remaining on the front and 5mm remaining on the back. Not quite sure what it is to start with but can I expect similar performance from the Nankangs?

Also do you get to choose which budgets tyres you want?

Budget tyres are exactly that, cheap and cheerful, don't even compare it with leading brand tyres. For day to day driving, you won't notice any difference at all to be fair, apart from maybe road noise or wet weather performance. But if you are the type of driver who pushes the car a bit and enjoy the occasional thrash, or drive a performance car in the first place, then I wouldn't skimp on the tyres, or you might end up with no car at all.

In that case budget tyres should be fine for me, as most of the time I'm just cruising.

At this rate, I seem to have at least another 10k or so to go on my tyres.

But in the mean time I think I'll get the suspension sorted first, don't want to look like a tractor for when I get them :p
