You need to look at Jap style alloys, a majority of those are light weight, but ti's finding some that will fit S3's is the problem.

I thing Sportec Mono 10's and the MTM Bimoto wheels are forged lightweight rims along with BBS rims.
from what i rember scuby wheels have the same pcd you might just need some spigot rings to fit , or if you realy find a set of wheels you like but there the rong pcd then just get some hub adaptors and add to the stance at the same time

There used to be a website that basically listed the weight of virtually every wheel made - although that was about 3/4 years ago so newer stuff might not be on there - but I'm sure I got the link from this site (or maybe it was audiworld?! )

Yeah forgot about oz, cheers ash. The only downfall with oz is that for some reason there prices have gone through the roof. I wanted some the other month, phoned demon tweaks up and the guy said something about australia and well over a grand so that was a no.

Those MTMs are anything but light. Big heavy things they are.
If I could justify the cost I'd have Dymags on my car.
you could go the hole hog and go for some carbon magnesium wheels bit pricey though

I'd have to argue if Team Dynamics are the best wheels your hard earned cash can buy. There are others which are also light - maybe not quite as light - but stronger.
Several BBS for example.
Any single piece forged, or spun rim BBS will be light...CHs maybe?
Beware of wheels too light...they may be fine on featherweight Jap hatches, or 106s/Clios...but give them a tonne and a half of German car to support and you need strength too.
This was a featherlight 16" Enkai wheel that had taken a decent knock:
...whereas a 17" BBS RX on a Mk3 Golf had taken a knock hard enough to bend the strut, yet the wheel was less than 0.5mm out of round.
Light, and strong.
That's the key.
It's easy to do light...and weak.
It's easy to do strong, and heavy.
Finding one that's both light and strong is usually expensive.

that was purely a joke to Dani mate as I have pro race 1.2's that I may have for sale, I didn't mean it quite literally!
As for them not being as strong as others, that's true, obviously forged wheels are the way to go for strength and lightness, but you pay at least double the price of the Team Dynamics for. They are still heat treated for strength though so will be more than strong enough for a road car. The fact that they are used as the official wheel in British and European touring cars says a lot really in my opinion.
And Dani,- the black on black would look amazing!
It would look good, if you dont like it, you can always spray them back to the colour of choice,

How about Rays RE30's? They are available in 18x8 +35 in the correct stud pattern, super strong and under 7.5kgs per wheel but they will cost you a fair amount. Would be nice if they made the TE37 in our stud pattern in an 18x8 but no love from the japs.

You need some serious wedge for Rays Volk rims!! But gorgeous wheels! I had a set of Volks on my old JDM civic, black spokes with a candy red anodised lip, everyone commented on them.
Never tested the strength of the Team Dynamics but used them for quite a while and they are much lighter than the OEM wheels ive come across.
yer i was looking at the rays-gram lights, there even around £220 a wheel, ive got quote from demon tweeks, for £120 a wheel for the team dynamics pro 1.2's they weight just under 10kg. plus you can buy now pay 9 months later .
would a good set of tryes, preferably reinforced walls cost around £200 for 4?

They quoted me arounf £950 for the same wheels but that was with top of the range tyre's, cant remeber what they where but like glen said you havent got a pray of getting decent tyres for £200.

But in all fairness, they are damn good wheels...
People should not confuse race wheels with road wheels.
Very light 'Race' wheels are 'lifed'. They do so many races, and get junked...before they break. Teams also expect the wheels to break in an accident, and budget accordingly.
BTCC teams change them after a bang...would a road driver, if they looked OK?
I doubt it...
Road wheels have to be capable of driving on UK roads, hitting potholes etc and last the life of the vehicle.
Sure, you can use 'Race' wheels on a road car...but you have to expect them to have a shorter lifespan and be weaker in many ways, than a proper set of road wheels.
You pay your money and make your choice.
