MY 2010 S3 Replacement In Sepang Blue

It's a very metallic colour from what I remember. I saw it n Saturday on a New TT. Was impressive but again was in a garage.

Looking at the TT above it definately looks a more solid deeper colour and lustrous than SB. I know this sounds daft, but it reminds me of the painted mirror finish you get on christmas decs - that is a cack handed complement BTW.

You are defo going to have to do an indepth photo shoot for us Dave. :beerchug:

I'm going to disagree here - from these photos and what I've seen in real life Sprint Blue is more striking colour than Sepang. Sepang looks very similar to various Vauxhall, Subaru and Ford colours to me. Not very special if you know what I mean - certainly not as special as Imola. That's my 2p - but only my opinion. Good luck though David.

Its definately one of those colours you have to see for yourself, it doesn't seem to look all that great in pictures. Every Sepang Blue car I've seen has always jumped out me as looking special and its far from a normal blue

Glad to hear that. I thought the same. Was considering the monterey blue from lamborghini but the paitn code for that is very hard to get and its a three layer paint so a little unsure.

I asked about having mine in Golf R32 Pearl Blue but they said because its not an Audi colour it would cost about 3k regardless of Audi & VW being interlinked. I imagine the same will apply for that.

I think its £2300 to have ay colour you want i.e from a paint code though.

Not too bad I suppose, the colour kind of makes a car.

All these blues just look too similar to these very unspecial machines to me (maybe its my eyes but where's the "wow" ?):

I want your bank balance!

TBH even paying extra for 'special option' colours with Pearl and Metallic is a joke in my opinion, apart from the rise of Ibis White, most buyers buy those colours anyway - massive rip off! Include it in the price! :motz:

id love an s3 sportback in this colour its really nice how much is it extra for audi exclusive paint anyone know

There was one in sheffield oudi in this colour a few months ago! Looked nice, but showed the finger prints, big time.

Is that one of the independent dealers?:jester:

Now that DOES have the wow factor .....

A little girlyish though maybe on an S3.An R8 can pull the colour off even in pink hehe.

Looks very nice but IMHO if you want an S/RS car in blue then it has to be the signature Sprint Blue. Especially if `the exclusive blue` could easily be mistaken for Sprint anyway. (not biased in any way of course:))

If I was going for an exclusive colour then it would have to be something totally different from the std colour chart with no mistake that I had chucked extra wedge at my new toy..

cheers
Paul

Thing is Paul - Sepng is the new RS blue.
TT-RS, RS6 and R8 all have it as one of the listed paints.... it's exclusive on everything else by the look of it.

That RS6 is gorgeous :hubbahubba:

You can see in those pics it has an extra depth to the colour than the boggo blue pug posted on the other page. Minted.

yeah but that would really only be a problem in knowsley saffari park lol.

If i was paying 2 grand plus for special paint it would have to be rarely seen on the road...
I saw an 06 sepang blue a3 in cheetham hill today , I dont think its very exclusive it would have to have something that people say damn thats a nice car and really stand's out fromn the crowd to justify paying 2 grand..

Im not trying to **** on anyone's fire thats just my opinion , i see blue's on the road all the time on different cars to like astra's and the mazda not just audis , And for 2 grand its just gotta be special i say like the purple r8 or the bronze m5 both effin lovely and i have not seen one of them on the road im not even saying go for these colours thats what id go for , But the colour has got to be damn special to pay 2 grand for it there probably spraying sepang blue every week and wouldnt even think it was exclusive untill i seen this thread .....

If you want sepang then go for it mate but id really have a think and go for something more special i remember seeing a purple a3 on the motorway and thought thats nice and its always stuck in my head , why because ive only seen it once..

I was gonna gonna say this yesterday but thought id be accused of being a troll something i aint im just trying to help ,If your happy with the choice then nice one id just make sure no one else had it of coarse it will be a love or hate thing and get mixed responces but only you have it ...

Hope i didnt offend you dave just trying to help

Sepang Blue was introduced this year Blazin!

What you will have seen is Mugello Blue which is much darker.

And that brown... hmmmm well nice in the sunshine, but given we're not in Dubai or California I think it would look dull and just, well, brown!

ok thanks for that my name is jonnie i may have to ask for my name to be changed because blazin sqaud is a crap group lol i just used it becuae my ebay account had that name , do you get my point though jamie blue's are not that exclusive

lol ive just looked at mugello blue and it deffo wasnt that mate im not colour blind dont mean anything by that it was just lighter, maybe it was sprint blue it was light blue on an 06 2.0tdi maybe he had it sprayed exclusive to and i accually like sprint blue better its one of the best blues ive seen there's a blue you can get on astra's which is nice to ...

Pah! I knew that man.

(damn you blue experts!:))

Sprint is still faster though:s3addict:

Paul

I think sprint was introduced on the RS4 in 2006.
The last bright blue before that was 'kingfisher' blue or there was also a flat blue 'Nogaro' that was 'S' exclusive I think.

We'll see hmmm, I can feel a blue meet coming on / photo shoot heheh.

I can understand people's views, yes its a blue but there aren't so many shades of any colour.
What else do you go for. e.g suzuka grey is like white. Ive had red / oragnge /yellow / black.

To stand out I would have to go green but even I haven't got balls for that hehehe. I was considering monterey blue but it doesn't look so good on the audi as opposed to the lambo.

Spring blue is amazing still not as fast as yellow / orange. Sepang is a proven faster colour because its on the RS models lol.

David

Can I just add for the OP - I still love Sepang.... I think it will look amazing!
Looking at that Black Grill on the RS6 though... are you maybe thinking of adding the black optics?

Dave, who is up for a swiss road trip later this year on a side note.

Here's the kingfisher blue it may of been that but i dont think so , im sure it was sprint blue im sure it was , he may of had it sprayed exclusive the same as rs4 ....

Defo not a fan of that. Prefer sprint to that so much more.

i was just saying the a3 06 i saw today wasnt this blue this is yak im sure it was sprint ...like 90 % lol

O right, No worries mate. Was it not marituis blue. I know audi do quite a few blues.
The good thing about sepang is that is changes betweeen light blue / dark / purple

I love the bronze sepang on that m5 in the sunlight its just seriously nice ...

Id love an s3 sportback in sepang dropped on 19s or even 20's that would break neck's exclusive to the max.........

Ye would be nice, seriously considering black optiks pack now. arrggghhhhh.
Decisions decisions.

Thanks Jamie, now I have to spend more money hehehe.

Looks like another phone call to audi tomorrow, do you think they will be ****** off, or happy for the extra. It's a fine balance fo them doing you a favour or you giving them more money. They should be grateful, but probably not

That will turn heads,....... damn straight:happy:

Dave, who is up for a swiss road trip later this year on a side note.

What did you have in mind and where are you based?

On the colour if you're paying over £1600 for it you need it to be right. I see what others are saying in that its an RS colour which get introduced to the S3 range at some point so it might make sense from that angle.

I wonder what the chances are that during 'run out' for this model that this paint colour might get added as an option to the standard option colours? I'd imagine I'd be pretty hacked off if that did happen.

Colour is a personal choice and if you like it then go for it - its still blue:undwech:

Based in manchester area. Thinking swiss alps maybe not sure in the route just seeing who is interested. When i get the new s3.

Ye its still blue, but diffetent on in the rs6. Its 1000 more really because blue yellow are £500 anyhow.
