I'm currently sat on the side of the M4 rather ****** off yet happy at the same time! I have just picked up some mint genuine bbs lm's with brand new tyred from some chap in Wales! In a awesome mood speeding back home to Oxford and suddenly BANG! I had a blow out on my near side rear tyre! Pulled over as soon as possible and thought how lucky I was, especially as I have 4 new wheels sat in the back if the car!

Well, that's when I began to get ****** off! Put the new wheel on and tried to drive off and the car wouldn't move, tc and abs light on :-( took the bbs lm off and put my spare on, the same thing happened, grrr!

The only thing I can think of is that the bolts may be too long? I've got rstt's fitted at the moment. Any how, I'm now sat waiting for Autohome to send someone out!

I'll add any updates on here, sure no one cares as there in bed but hey, might make you laugh!

good result with the new wheels, pisser about the car not wanting to move!!.

Did you change the bolts when you changed your wheels last time then?.

are you touching your brakes with your alloys?
pisser btw

$hit!!!

Happy days about the alloys, not about the lack of movement though!!

Let us know how you get on dude :)

Maybe the cars being very ungreatfull!

When you had your blow-out did you snag the ABS sensor or harness?

Well, I didn't get in until 3:30 am last night! The auto home bloke turned up and checked the car out. It turns out that the wheel spacer had ceased itself to the old wheel. Me being half asleep and in the dark, had forgotten to check if the spacer was still on the hub. When I tightened the larger than standard bolts back up it was gone right through the hub and destroyed the abs sensor ring allong with a few other things. The mechanic was a top bloke and after a good 30 mins managed to bend everything back into place so I could make it home!

Any way, I've booked the car into the garrage for Friday, hopefully it won't be a too expensive job to fix! I fitted the rest of my new wheels and am VERY impressed, they look AWESOME! They have certainly cheered me up nay way! Heres a few pics. I've got a LCR splitter to fit this weekend too :-D The most fustrating part is, it means i'll have to get the bus to work until Fri, AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Ceers for your comments btw!

:yahoo:

looks good those genuine lm's look much better then the reps

another thing... are they 18 by 8.5 or are they 19s? either that or u have one hell of a chunky spacer on there!
how would a larger wheel make it any wider??

Ouch, but I guess the silver lining is pretty clear in this case.

Very nice too, but the track now look quite wide on the front, I'd perhaps go for some narrower spacers if it was my car.

Lovely wheels though :)

Tasty!!!

Get some pics of the mk2 up as well please dudey dude!!

Front looks perfect IMO. Judging by the pics im guessing you have 10mm spacers on the front and none on the back?

I reckon 20mm on the rear would look awesome!

mate the wheels really don't suit your colour car....think you need to sell them to me for £50

lol, its taken me AGES to find a reasonably priced set of genuine LM's, I wont be selling these for a very very very long time!

There 18's, not sure how wide im running some wheel spacers too though :eyebrows:

Thats the idea! I wanted them to stick out slightly. Hopefully getting some ajustable coilovers at some point this summer. It should look awesome if its lovered a little bit more! It desperately needs an ajustable tie bar to sort out the rear. Its sits at a angle instead of flat!

Heres a few pics of the golf too. Its a 1.8 GTi 16v, ported polished head, full exhaust and manifold full leather etc etc. Got some winter wheels on atm though. I'm thinking of putting her up for sale soon, don't really have the chance to use her!

Looks good. A bit of bother doesnt matter :)

This is only IMHO, but they dont suit the car at all, now its personal preference of course but wrong wheel for that car, stick them on the golf all day long & they'll be cool but on an S3, I'd have to give the thumbs down, but hey your car so my opinion is irrelevant, just being honest though.

lol :asskicking:

Hey after 7 years of ownership of an S3 & realising not many wheels to actually suit, trust me I understand the pain of making it look good, lol

car looks stunning, once its lowered and spaced she'll look awesome.

i love those wheels.

Just didnt get your post TBH. LM's are probably the best suited wheel on the S3.

Just My opinion...

Ah so you meant you didnt agree with me, not get what I meant, as we both have said its personal opinion, having owned an S3 for a fair while it was very difficult to get a set that actually suited the style of the car, oem style seem to be the best for them tbh, the S4 B6/7 Avus wheels were actually probably the best, even the A8's come of well, but these ones above, wrong car IMHO, they're to busy for a more refined car, the mk2 golf interms of looks suited them better, but again as I said this is only IMHO.

BBS RM's with a nice lip look awesome on m1/m2 golfs!

Ahem, got a set of them too, prob be up for sale soon though!

lmfao, hey gotta try your luck huh fella, go for it.
