My build thread....

...and judging by the reaction time, there's even more in it when the driver hooks up well :racer:

Hey Timbo mate just read your sig... Limited Edition S3.. :yum:
Get some pics up dude i want to see :sign_pics::sign_pics::sign_pics::thumbsup:

Limited edition... How?

Here's my intro post, with pics

http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showpost.php?p=633352&postcount=1

Audi Australia ordered 60 "Limited Editions", with an option set comprising seats, blacked out grille, privacy glass, adaptive HID lights, sunroof, FBMFSW and titanium RS4 wheels (which looked crap against Dolphin Grey, hence I took the silver finish as an alternative)...and some other stuff I can't remember.

I love it!

Looks great Tim. I love it too. :yum:
Black optic grille looks great plus with the tints.
So basically there only officially 60 S3's in Aussie?

Certainly is Limited. The wheels really set it off.
What i'd do for that sunshine mate... makes driving so much more fun!

Only 60 "Limited Editions"; the S3 is sold here and of course you can order it as you like, provided you're prepared to wait for it to be built in Germany and shipped here...that's around 4mths. I guess Audi Australia figured this was a reasonably popular option set, and ordered a batch to cater for people like me (although, despite the sunshine here, I would not normally have specified the sunroof -- too hot to use most of the time...except when it's too cold :ermm: )

Ah right i see... Still your one looks cracking.

And the sunroof... well i don't know why i specified it either... too cold to use it... and when its meant to be hot... it's always cold

Is that ET time(car without your reaction) or RT(car + your reaction over 0.5 sec) time ? Cause my ET with 310hp was 13.075sec on 1/4 mille. But I put out all seats, only mine was in and I cooled IC with C02 (but outside temperature was 36c)

LOL what you on fella always pulling my leg that I dont have a sunroof!!

You dont know why you specified one lol :p

Weather conditions, new clutch, 3rd ever run, different track and timing system, however with the right start I will run very low 12's maybe into high 11's..

I must admit i was expecting a faster time. I think once you practice launching and get used to the gearing/power band you'll be in the 11's!

Given the conditons (look at the ****** weather) - thats a good time IMO.

And plus - new car (well - it'll feel like it with the turbo) - it will take getting use to and stuf :p

I think you'll easily get into the 11s.

My unc had an Evo 8 at 400bhp-ish. Done late 13s (he couldnt get the power down) in the wet and the year after with stripped seats and no spoiler blade, got 11.6.

Andy the cas awesome! car looks so stealth....love it and has more then enough power to go with it! well done fella....

Update***

I managed to run out of talent (see thread by same name) but my baby is almost back!

I have gone for Pro Race 1.2s as I mashed my wheels up a tad!
New style grill, more aggresive looking but keeping the Audi look.

Will be adding Water meth soon, well as soon as I can buy it! will post pics soon..

Hi Andy,

Glad to hear it's nearly back in service.

I had both ALS and water injection on my Escort Cosworth a few years ago.

The ALS was a laugh, and gave instantaneous boost from a closed throttle, but was unusable on ordinary roads due to the non-existent idling quality, and a moderate amount of power being around even on lifting the throttle.

Water injection certainly was useful to have around, but tended to trigger itself only on hot days, and under hard use,as the intercooler was both massive and very effective at keeping intake temperatures down....with the S3s smaller intercooler, this may work well for your car.

***Update***

Well, car was meant to be back today! and as of last night it was still in the oven drying so its unlikely to be here for the BHP show I am meant to be going too :(

Even when I get it back, the new grill wont be on, the anti-lift bushes wont be fitted as we cant find them for sale! but everything else should be done.

Next show will be Stoner Park I guess, might get some 1/4 mile sprints done at Santa pod before that though..

Audi S3 Special Edition my **** :p

Car is back now with a new look!!

This is Part 1 of 2 so more pics in a couple of weeks!!

Mind those kerbs, next time get a room, lol

Anyway so you happy with?

looks nice with them wheels although you might want to go over that front plate in photobucket again you can still see the reg lol.....

Glad to hear the beast is back

Got to say - looks better than ever with the new touches.

Maybe a LCR spoiler for the front - they look awesome on the S3...

Well if you have deep pockets then goto audi, if you want reasonable prices then check ebay 1st as always someone selling S3 wheels oem ones aswell, or go aftermarket ones or check audi breakers but always check the wheels for buckles from the breakers given reason why they have them of course.

Water meth ordered!! £150 from the US of A inc shipping! 4 hours to fit by The Phirm, heres the blurb on it.....

Benefits Of Water Alcohol/Methanol Injection:
Lower air temperatures by 50-200+ degrees......Has too be good!
Reduces cylinder temperatures up to 250+ degrees...Only a + point!
Increase your 87-93 pump gas by 8-20+ points... 120 octane!!! feck me!
Increase horsepower safely by 10-15%.... + 64 bhp takes mine to 491!!
Allows you to safely run more boost and timing... which will take me over the 500bhp mark!!!
Longer more stable combustion expansion and progression.....uh?
Removes carbon build up from combustion chambers, pistons and valves.. a good thing on 2.0tfsi engines!
Reduces & helps eliminate engine damaging detonation & pre-ignition
No need for expensive racing fuel or additives... no more redex!! lol

Going back to carbon build up, any one else seen the backs of their valves? mine are all oilly and getting sticky so this mod will help clean them up!

Hi Andy
A guy on SEATCupra.net is doing a WMI install (Devil's Own). Controller has had to go back to the US as it's faulty, but was looking with interest to see what gains are offered.

I think people under-estimate how much the excess boost can elevate the internal temps and then subsequently sap the BHP figures as everything adjusts back to compensate. Really good to see that someone is plumbing it in, so will be watching with interest to see how you benefit.

Are you putting in a separate reservoir tank, or using the washer bottle? If separate tank, where will you locate it?

Will run it off the washer bottle tank for now may look to fit a tank in the boot but will see how it goes!

When you coming over I am in Mortimer some good roads here! ;)

Sounds good....mine had the water injection tank and pump in the boot, just to add to the racket from the fuel pumps and exhaust!
