Got the car...realised that pics really don't do it justice..looks so much better in the flesh.

Audi gave me a grill badge but said they could not manage to fit it...personally I think the sales guys just had a go at putting it on 5mins before I got there.

Must admit looks ****** awkward to get on...not sure if I will manage, need really skinny fingers to get through the slats !

Will get some pics up soon.
 
Did you go into Abdn Audi to look at my car yestrday ? Salesmens told me one of my mates from the forum was in to have a gander !

Ah well, hope you saw it and can settle down to looking forward to yours being delivered now.:jump:
 
Was me that was in checking up on what i needed to give them for my reg transfer, car had just arrived and was up on a ramp and still dirty, still looked well though:):)

Are you happy with it??????

Delighted with it although I did request the no smoking pack and of course it's not been done. They say they can retrofit so we'll see.

I was the same, when i was speaking about mine yesterday, didn't realise almost everything on an Audi is an extra.

My golf has the auto lights and wipers, i thought that was standard but on an Audi it's a £350 cost option.

Hopefully might see it going about so i can see it clean and in the daylight

Yes its not hard, the only thing they will need is a plastic inlay with rubber in the bottom where the ashtray was.
 
Thanks, I guess they also need a cap for the cigarette lighter ?

Can someone remind me if the Black edition is meant to come with rear parking sensors - for some reason I expected this but don't seem to have them ?

Still can't get the flippin grill badge on...need fingers about another 4 ins longer to do it, far to fiddly for me..might end up just sticking one on with glue - don't suppose you have the part no for a sticky - same size as the grill badge ?

One other thing - anyone direct me on how to upload photos onto this thread ?

Parking sensors came on the rag top A3 Black EDT

For photos you need to host them somewhere like photbucket facebook etc then like them to here using img tags
 
No the black edition dosent have parking sensors in 3 Door and SB form only the Convertable has them, i think what they do is give you parking sensors on the Cab and Black out windows on the Hatchs.

I was going to have the non smoking pack but the covered ashtray comes in handy for small change.

To re-iterate, if you want to add pics, upload them to a file site like photobucket or facebook then copy the link url of the pic directly on to here.. that should do the trick...

They also need to order a 12v socket which comes with a flip top cap, forgot about that.oops. Also ref the sticky, Audi dont list the sticky seperate.

Is it me or is Audi privacy glass just way too dark. It makes a black car look almost like an A3 van! :)

Ta..kinda know what you mean as if I had the choice I would have it mid-tint but the deal for the B.E. was too good not to go for it.

The wheels sealed it for me though even though all pics I have seen they look crap..but they really are the biz..lost count on comments on them already..

By the way, any chance you could help me out with those pms I sent you ?
 
I still think the black could do with the chrome s3 grill along with bigger wheels or lowering another 10 mm.. Big wheels would really set these cars off.
Can you get these in 19"?

Re the S-Line grill badge - SUCCESS:yahoo:Mega fidgety but managed to get both clips in and it appears to be solid....word of warning to anyone else trying it - Good chance you will scuff the inner slats trying to get the
clips lined up - If you succeed in getting the badge on though you can't see anything so all good :o.k: Defo looks better.

Big thanks to CIGOONER and FRENCHY2475 for the valuable input on this.

Congtrats chap!!!! looks ace.... I'm still changing the wheels and grill on mine in May when it arrives as I think it still needs a little alloy colour to make it stand out with the alloy mirrors. OK I'm changing it from being a "Black eddition" but with the lights, bose and steering wheel, its still a better option than getting the S-line and adding all these pieces.

Does anyone know if the 19"s will rub on this? I can't find the new S3 wheels in 18"'s even after I thought I had them ordered!!..

Cheers ! Slim chance you may change your mind on the wheels as the Black edition ones are not photogenic at all, just make your decision once you've got the car...you never know..

You going for the S3 Black optics grill ? If so, stick some pics up when you get a chance.
 
My car is finally here and i go and collect it tomorrow morning. I am really looking forward to it specially seeing your cars on here!!!:thumbsup:
 
Will get some pics up once I've finished with it, thanks for the wheel link woohoo!, just what i'm after. I have been promised a set for free from croydon Rsr wheels as I did some work for them on some software..They said I could have a set in May when the car arrives. I would like to have a set as a back up plan in case I get let down.

I know what you mean about the black wheels not being photogenic however I have my mind set on the new versions.... will have them ready for when it arrives.
 
:blackrs4:I have just ordered the 170 back edition, but not taking delivery until June:sadlike:. I want to add S3 skirts and back bumper, has anyone done this before. I have a focus ST2 at the moment, I am a bit worried that I will find this A3 a bit slow.

The 170 will be no slouch but afraid it's no match for the handling, speed and sheer growl of the ST...

love the car ,,not the privacy glass - medium tints all round or you look like a minivan or a hearse lol :jester::jester::jester::jester:

If you search Audi.co.uk used car locator and select audi A3 in white...

Theres a 3 door BE in white.. Very nice..
 
i do like the black edition i seen one today at audi there nice this had funny enough all round medium tints it must of been owned by someone cos i dont think audi would do the glass like that but looked very nice indeed.....congrats to the black edition owners privacy glass or not the hearse was just a bit of banter...
 
the hearse is just a joke no harm intended fokes lol its funny anyhow everytime i do a mod on my car my mate takes the **** calling me a halfords millionaire ..its just a joke ok love the black edition just not the privacy glass audi does thats all... we got to have a laugh eh ...team moral and all that ...feel free to banter back :arco:
 
I sat in the black edition that they had in Audi Doncaster yesterday it looks really well in White. They also have a black demo that will be sold soon.
 
the white is nice but the black ed is much nicer theres one in audi lancaster in manchester it had flat bottom steering wheel do they all come with that as standard ... dam i need one of them fbmfsw myself they look great

The black edition is the styling that comes with the A3 S-Line, that pic is of a black edition in white.
They all come with the flat bottom steering wheel along with titanium wheels, xenons, DRL, Piano black inlays, rear tint and of course the black styling...
 
I have finally got my car and the pictures really dont do it any justice. This car looks awsome !!!!

Really wouldnt change any thing. I have got the 170tdi quattro and its serious fun.

Just to clarify, how long after the build date are your cars arriving???

My build date is next monday and im getting so impatient with waiting, any idea when its will be here? sold my Golf GT already and borrowing my sisters clio til my car arrives.... :tocktock:
