Im no good with gadgets so bear with me, i have the Audi i pod connection in the glove box and the standard Audi DVD nav. How do i play music from my ipod? It shows the Audi symbol when connected and it just seems to play one track, it wont let me skip or anything?

Also it seems to come lose rather easily in the cradle.

Thanks

I haven't got one but as noone has answered yet you need to set up playlists on your ipod. Up to 300 tracks in each if I remember rightly and 6 playlists because it's set up to make the RNS-E think there is a CD changer connected.

Didnt you get some adaptors with the car. Doesnt fit all ipods though but you should have wedges that will do the trick.

I have an Audi iPod interface fitted by my dealer and a Symphony II+ unit. I have to press the CD button twice to get CD 7-12. CD buttons 7-11 then correspond to playlists on the iPod. CD button 12 plays everything on the iPod from start to finish.

So far I have just copied some CDs to the iPod and each CD is a playlist.

Mine just has the iPod connection plug in the glovebox without any form of cradle, so I just have the iPod in a leather case.

Defo, you should have gotten the plastic adaptors for the cradle. Was it a new motor.

The retrofit kit is simply a lead. You do not get a console like factory cars as this would require a new Glovebox and would triple the cost of the retrofit.

There is an adaptor shown in the parts list which fits into the small top right compartment of an existing glove box. Personally I'm happy with the lead and plug connection as my iPod is only ever used in the car.

I have also just fitted a Dension Gateway 100 unit with an active cradle for my wife's iPod Nano in her VW Polo. I surprised how different the operation of the Dension is to the Audi unit. I must say I much prefer the Audi way of doing things.

Mine came with only one adaptor which doesn't fit my ipod!! Does anyone know if you can buy the different adaptors seperately?

all sorted, i have all the adaptors but its still isnt a great fit and moves so i have put some packing around it to make a snug fit.

The console does not fit into the existing glovebox. You need to fit an 6CD Changer type glovebox for the console to fit. The Adaptor kit is a small bag of plastic fixing that go into the console itself to hold the iPod steady.

As you say the lead is better because the console may not fit later generation ipods correctly.
