Morning all, after some advice, need to get some new tyres, some new wheels it is. I want to get 18" RS6 with tyres, there's alot of companies selling the alloys and tyres, and I'm sure the quality varies.

Who did you buy your reps from and what are the packaged tyres like, eg. kumho ecsta and the like, will probably upgrade tyres to T1R's in all honesty.

So after decent suppliers of reps, don't want mega heavy if I can get away with it.

Cheers all.:salute:

As you know buying Reps is a risky business and I have heard some horror stories! I bought my genuine RS6's from ebay for £300 and although they need a refurb to be perfect they are in very good condition and 2 of the 4 tyres had in excess of 6mm. That was a buy it now price too, just for your info.

I've bought replica RS4's from wheelbase before and the quality was pretty good. The prices at the moment are pretty good value IMO.

Cheers sixsr, phoned around yesterday after much looking and reading all the forums, ordered 18" RS6 with Toyo T1r's 225/40/18 from wheel base for £550

Cheapest quote other than that was Rochford at £635 with Toyo's

Will be here Friday, best get some poorboys sealant ordered now!!!!!!!!

go for OEM, always better quality and at least you are guarnateed the offset and hub diameter and more importantly the profile are bang on.
I got OEM RS6 style 18" wheels ET35 IIRC with a p zero nero's all round for £450.
I couldn't buy the tyres for that!

eBay again, just have to wiat your turn.
find me some decent RS4 Et20's hard versions for a decent price and you can have mine!

jcb - sounds like you got a bargain there!!!

The OE Five Arm wheels are 8x18 and ET43.

BUB

I've been offered a set of RS4 Replica's pretty cheap. At the moment my 1.6 A4 is running 7 x 16 wheels with 205/55x16 tyres & ET42. The RS4's 8.5 x 18 with 225/40x18 tyres & ET35.

I'm just wondering if they'll fit ok and its going to affect the fuel consumption and zap what little power the engine has!?

My RS4 rims were reps and they were great only changed them as I ******** 2 after a humpback bridge incident (no defense I just cocked up). I got my RS6 18's from Rochford tyres complete with Conti Sport Contact3's for £670

I Once held a 17'' Five spoke Genuine Audi alloy in one hand and a replica of the same wheel in the other.. I couldn't believe the difference in weight! The replica was some much heaver.. X4 and it must have a substantial effect to the performance!

wheelbae is round the corner from me, ive bought reps from them and other wheels for me cars , they do sell good quality stuff at competative prices .

I would check that they will fit with that offset. That sounds to me like an offset from an A3, A4 offsets are usually 42 - 45.

Sizewise, the tyre circumferences should be ok according to http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html

They will dull the acceleration technically, but I doubt you would notice much difference, same for mpg although in theory you would probably have to drive the negine harder to make the same progress.
