Thought it would be good to open a discussion thread for all the latest news/leaks on the facelift of the rs3 which is all but confirmed front and rear bumper with part numbers have already surfaced on other social media platforms.

A little article from Autocar, unsure if it relates directly to the facelift but you never know!

Autocar - Audi not finished with the RS3 and its 5-cyl

I think if anyone's interested in a facelift car, they'd better be quick to get in, based off whats happened with the pre-facelift. Hopefully have some more of the nice Euro options too, some more colours etc

Not sure if I’ll want one but thinking of getting an order in when the books open. Sure I’ll have a couple of years to think about it!

I read this earlier. I’m not sure id want a FL as the styling is changing and the exhausts are apparently mid exit.

Are you still in the queue or did you pull your order (genuinely sorry Audi were so useless on getting a Tango Red Carbon built for you )

A decent dealer/sales chap the order is under in Terminators case like many others would be contacting Audi UK/DE asking if certain colour changes/option removals/additions would help speed up the delivery of the car.. all they seem to want to do is take the money and that’s it…

Audi should be communicating this also with dealers if there’s issues supplying certain options too. The whole thing is a joke.

It doesn't seem to be a case here. I tried to place an order with production early 2024. I was told it's not an option because audi collects orders for production slots for this year only at the moment. The latest production date was week 47. And there very little change there will be a delay that would cause production next year.

I do hope these cars are worth the wait. I can get a GT3rs in 3 months (not that I can afford one of course)

3 Years is just madness.

Depends……

People coming from an S3 may think it’s a step up.

If you come from all previous gens then I’d say it’s a disappointing version.

What have you found disappointing so far? Compared to 8P and 8V

I'm also interested to hear your views on this. Being new to the RS3, I haven't driven the previous generations but most of the reviews have lauded the 8Y for much improved driving dynamics. I agree the sound is a let down but that's a problem with all OPF generation cars unfortunately. I do think the interior is a bit dull. It's a shame they couldn't at least offer contrast stitching! I think I might treat myself to a set of those funky red seatbelts that a few had ordered recently :)

Interior / engine / buggy MMi system software.

Cheaper materials

Clicking steering (fixed under warranty)

Clacking brake pedal when released (couldn’t be bothered arguing the toss with Audi about it, even though there’s a ****** TPI about it on other models)

8V facelift was the pinnacle for me.

8V PFL for me for the sound, but the 8Y looks and drives much better.

The MMI can be a proper joke sometimes.

I actually strangely miss my 8V even though the 8Y driving dynamics are in a different league.

felt a more expensive car interior wise also. materials like you say are lacking.

Not had issues yet interior wise or MMI but can imagine it’s only a matter of time. The B&O is so bad compared to 8V what were they thinking.

steering on mine made a friction noise when on full lock which was strange in reverse.

it does feel like the costs have been cut. I know it’s a completely different car but Porsche 991 and 992 are simular where newer model drives better but they have cut costs on the new model interior and again buggy PCM.

Must just be a VAG thing now.

Agree it looks better and I hated it’s looks when first pictures appeared.

The Daza, even though heavily slated when it first appeared, is the sweet spot for me.

The OPF’d later variants are too strangled to sound like they should.

I've never driven a previous gen than the 8Y, but I gave my 8Y a good boot in a tunel and blimey, that sounded incredible :O

Agreed DAZA and CZGB for me both had character about them. Especially once opened up.

The newer variants are strangled now.

Got the same issue with BMW - IMHO my M4cp with MPE was the pinnacle looks and noise-wise despite everyone saying the G8x is a far superior car.

I’d be back in one by now I think if it wasn’t for the interest rates at current.

I’ve looked at 2 TTRS now and both were showing signs of a hard life.

Yeah that’s part of the trouble, I would want a good stock example.

Paid 38k for mine coming up to 3 years ago now probably. Cheapest on the trader (super quick search) with under 20k miles, mine was 16k miles and a very high spec, just under 39k - basic spec. Crazy. RS3 that is. Looked at the TTRS too, not in person but even harder to get a decent one of the money.

Lol dreamers.
Lot of better metal at that price.
I like the DAZA but for that price you can get a new Caymen 4.0 GTS and change. There is no comparison
