What’s up people.

Recently purchased a 2012 8P RS3 in Sazuka Grey.

Happy with the car but the brakes really let it down! I’ve put in an order for Reyland Motorsport 370x32mm floating J hooked discs.

With regards to pads, I have no idea where to start. I’ve seen Ferodo Performance FDS1334 (R90 compliant) & Ferodo DS2500 FCP1334 (see picture), I’m not sure if the DS2500’s will fit my oem brembo calliper? On progressive parts website it says it will fit the 8p RS3. Is there any one here that runs these (FCP1334) on their 8P?

I have a track day booked for later in the year & will be going Nurburgring as well. So any advice for pads will be much appreciated.

Lovely looking machine, well done :thumbs up:

Lots of opinions here for sure but I have been using Ferodo Eco-Friction on my 8P RS3 (and TT and SQ5) since May 2019 and find them excellent for road use. Had my 8P RS3 a long time now and have tried a variety of brake pads but truly cannot fault these for road-use. Oh, and fitted these pads to several other 8P RS3's and TT's also all with positive feed back.

And NO low-speed brake squeal! And very brake-disc friendly too...

See: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/ferodo-eco-friction-green-brake-pads-for-the-8p-rs3.397139/

PS: MTEC do a rear drilled brake disc (MTEC1471) to match the fronts - fitted ours January 2015

PS 2: if doing a track-day, etc, I'd strongly recommend changing that rear arb: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/034-motorsport-arb-rear-anti-roll-bar.287690/ :racer:

Hope this helps... :hi:

Thanks mate, same to you! We have great taste haha

First time I’m hearing of those pads, i’ll definitely have to consider those for road use. Sounds much better than going with OEM in the future.

Those MTEC do look flash & for the price I’m quite surprised. Thanks for the heads up, i’ll have to add them to the list.

Have been looking at ARBs for a few weeks now, what made you go with 034 Motorsport and not the H&R’s? (Saw them on Awesome GTI) As a few guys have mentioned 034 i’ll have definitely have to check them out.

Also what drop links did you use?

Thanks!

The 034 arb is designed to be fitted on its own without the front arb (which is a pain to fit) . I have one on my RSQ3, it's actually the same fitment as the 8P RS3! Corners much flatter as verified on a recent trip down to Shropshire

I used the original/OEM drop links, rico, no reason to change.

As for the drilled MTEC brake discs I have 'em front and rear on our TT and SQ5 with Ferodo Eco-Friction and no complaints.

And the SQ5 has the 034 ARB - makes suce a huge difference :racer:

PS, your colour is Suzuka grey metallic - a 2011 RS3 'optional colour @ £510.00 inc

Suzuka grey

Nice one, thank you. How did you find the paint options sheet? Is there a way to find the full spec sheet for the 8P RS3’s? I’ve tried but no luck!

Is there a rough estimate of how many out of the 750 UK cars are in Sazuka Grey? I’m not sure how rare this colour is (if it is). Been told by a few people it’s quite rare to see.

Thank you both for the info on the ARBs, i’ll hopefully get them ordered soon. Sounds like it’s definitely worth getting it fitted. Gotta follow your tips for installation tho .

Thank you, John, much appreciated.

The Cornflower blue looks insane I bet it looks even better in person. Probably the best blue I’ve ever seen! Suits the car extremely well. Lovely choice mate

Will definitely get the hard copies ordered but thanks again for the digital copy!

From driving my first RS3 at Stafford Audi on 12th October 2011, and then trying to order/buy one the following day (RS3copilot saying "why don't we have one") and finding ALL of the first 250-cars SOLD we then found this "BLUEY" later the same day (13th). The following day (14th) we found it 'SOLD' but no £s deposit! The day after, 15th, at around 08.30, we were down at Chorleywood and had purchased it! Didn't even bother to 'sit' in it! The look on RS3copilot's face said it all! OURS!!! :superman: And ALWAYS will be :friends: GREAT car... :thumbs up: Though I do so LIKE our 2017 SQ5 :racer:

You're welcome. I'll send you the digital version of this - the Audi RS3 Official Launch Pack:
RS3 digital later... :readit:

You need to look here, also: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/rs3-discussion-thread.107448/page-18 and post #713 when ASN member 'bagey' first spoted it in Newcastle on Tyne - just delivered September 13 2011. Lots of other 8P RS3 stuff too - as the first cars were just arriving here in the UK. Funny, but he/they could not describe the colour! Post #746 I realised it was ours :yahoo:

Hahahaha, amazing backstory you have for BLUEY (love the name btw), the colour is insane!!

I’d love to give the launch pack a read, whenever you can send it over, please do. Thanks for the specification brochure you sent, had a good read.

Is there any way to find my exact spec details using the VIN number? Audi haven’t been much help. Not sure if there’s a website for this?

Thanks
