RS3 Build Tracker Spreadsheet

congratulations. Can I ask who fitted the ghost and tracker and what was the cost. Does it affect the car warranty when security devices are fitted.
Search the instagram @autotech_uk
Ghost II and an S5 MetaTrak with a years subscription was 850 all fitted.
It shouldn’t affect anything. My dealership even said when i picked up if i was getting any security and their response was ‘good idea’.

Appreciate your reply. I will have to find a company local to me in Carlisle. It’s a shame Audi don’t provide this service. Saying that, if they did it would be expensive.

Autofusion in glasgow do the tracker and via app can tell stats like how fast going, how harsh braking, speed limit of road and can cut off car from app aswell.
My friend was showing me. Thinking of doing to mine

Hi everyone! Shiny new member here. :sign imnew:
Wondered if I could be added to the list please?
Ordered 11th October 2021 through Motorfinity (who order through Jardine Audi in Oldham).
RS3 Sportback Carbon Black, C&S, RS Adaptive Suspension in Tango Red.

How does this tracker work? Does it give a better view of the expected build than the dealers? Getting frustrated with a different prediction each time I ask! Do you need my order number? Current estimate is BW 8th May '23.

Thanks for your your help. :sunglasses:

Welcome @Scooby216. Added to our tracker spreadsheet. The tracker spreadsheet, gives a slight hint on what is happening within Audi.
Certainly it does not matter when you placed the order as cars are being built in batches of Parts , certain colour, model Version[Std->Carb->Vorsprung] and body type [Saloon->Sportsback] in this order. From your order date yours is 5th on our list for Carbon, Tango Red, Sportsback.
It appears this combination of variables for the batch is due to start build around start of March as some of the members have been advised by their dealer, of course indicative. Generally, it becomes more certain, when we here only the cars have been built or notification from Audi its about to Start to our tracker members.
Also, worth keeping in mind, our tracker at best represents 10-15% of the UK orders, however its more than what we can derive from Audi.
The longest wait has been 18months since placing the order and also for those who have ordered Vorsprung editions in Aug-Sep21, have waited longer or still waiting on their orders, whilst orders after Sep for Vorsprung have been delivered and if your order was for a Exclusive Paint, then its sheer potluck with the build.
Appreciation, to all members on this tracker on their input from their dealers and alert email from Audi to this thread to make it tiny bit useful.

Said goodbye to mine yesterday mate.
Short lived at 12 months but at least I can say I had one and it was nice to get one of the early cars.
Good luck when you (eventually) gets yours :)

if you currently have a 2016 RS3 then that if anything makes the situation worse.
I too had a 2016 RS3 and absolutely loved that car - longest I have ever kept a car @ 4 years.
I traded it for a 2020 Merc A45s - was nice at first (all the new tech etc) but the 4 pot sounded like a hoover unless you thrashed it.
But i thought I would give that brand a go and there was no new RS3 at the time.
I then blindly ordered the current RS3 thinking its a 5 pot and it looked terrific.
The positives are that the car looks stunning - the exterior is bang on the money and I can't fault it at all.
Interior wise - it 'could' look great but without any contrast stitch its just too plain for me and feels like a regular A3 tbh.
Honeycomb pattern on the seats feels very RS, but without the contrast stitch (which all Euro cars get) it loses so much IMO.
Dynamically its a great car to drive and the performance is more than enough.
Its a great comfortable car to gulp up miles with, the tech is nice etc etc.
So all sounds good so far yeah.
The deal breaker for me is the sound.
As you will know, the 8V sound is incredible.
The 8Y does sound ok but nothing compared to the 8v.
If anything I was thinking, the 8V was a touch anti-social so a few db down might not be a bad thing.
But after while living with the car, I realised that I really did miss that great 8v soundtrack and it was a bigger part of the car than I considered.
For many, especially those who have never owned an 8v or who are not too fussed about sound, I think the 8y is still a superb car and it may be for you mate.
I just had no emotional attachment to the 8Y and its a lot of cash to be tied up in something that doesn't overly excite you.

I’ve noticed a bit of an exodus on the 8Y group too.
I'm only here because I saw they weren't on the Audi configurator and wondered why and wondered if I should take the plunge but reading what is said here confirms what I have thought all along since the first reviews. Not much happening in the 8v section anyway
If anything I was thinking, the 8V was a touch anti-social so a few db down might not be a bad thing.
if it was a 2016 then I'm guessing PFL? Fl is a touch more civilised, not much, just a touch
718 GTS 4.0 litre flat 6.
If it had more doors, I'd even settle for just a bit more space, I would have jumped to one of those ages ago. Most of the noise is intake which the GPF cannot strangle. Good choice!

Can't say I don't miss the noise but I still wouldn't go back the way. My original plan was to keep the PFL 8V as well as the new one but didn't pan out that way in the end. That would have been the best of both worlds. I personally still love my 8Y. Can't believe it's almost been a year.

I think if it were more special inside like some of its bigger brothers (or even the RSQ3) then it would make a difference, for me ultimately it’s never a 60k car.
Audi have moved the rear set up on, yes with the trick Torque splitter, but they didn’t really move the rest of the car on, software bugs, missing spec on cars, and the so so interior
It’s a Five cylinder with the warble turned right down……..

Not sure what you’re situation is re finance, I.e. have you got a rate locked in? That could be a factor depending on affordability. I found that with the RS4. Because im on a lower monthly rate, and rates now are so much higher, it really limits options like for like. Might be worth the wait …

Cayman or Boxster ? We bought a new Boxster in 2004 (6 Cylinder) so we though we would try the 718 after the Macan, there are only two of us so its buy what we want really with our budget. We test drove both the 4 pot turbo 718's and the handling and performance was great but the bl**dy noise in the cabin was terrible , after an hour we had had enough and bought a 911.

Cayman - I did think about a Boxster but settled on the hard top in the end.
On the test drives I've had I did find it could be quite a civilised car if you turn off the sports exhaust and cruise at low revs but had the option to be a hooligan if you wanted the drama and noise - very much like the 8V RS3 in that respect.

Thanks for the insight, i never got to drive one before i ordered and the only one the dealer had in was a Saloon at the time and we werent allowed to drive that either.
I totally agree with the contrast stitching as its something ive seen on the euro cars and really loved and i even got the red vents for my current RS to give the interior a little lift.

I am a bit nervous about the sound, as i really do love the 8V ive always been a sucker for a nice note.... and from the moment i heard the 8V i wanted one.

Its been a hard decision as in my head i know its the last of them and becuase i was so intent on keeping the 8V it made sense to go up a few years and have the same car but a little fresher as i really cant pin point what else id move to unless it was a GTS Macan or Turbo Cayenne, as with 2 kids and a 911 we need something that has a little bit more room if we have to travel with any luggage etc.

My other option is to keep the 8V and stage 2 it and just enjoy it more.... decisions.. decisions....

I regards to sound, if you have the 8V then I don't think you'll ever get the same note without removing the OPFs. That said, if you can forgive that a little bit (still sounds pretty good with the ASR controller) and the interior with no contrast stitch then it's a pretty good motor overall. If a bit expensive.

Good news, @shiggy's order was couple of weeks before yours, so a good chance shiggy's is also built and should been advised by the dealer. Fingers crossed for the Carbon black. @Zohaib's MythosBlack, Vorsprung also same week, being a saloon more likely to have been built. Best chase the dealer, just in case they are a bit slow.

Cannot disagree with the Interior, I wanted the flash of Green or Red. The 8Y for me is a positive step up from the 5pot noise from the 8V OPF'd facelift. With ASR, just enough ASBO for me.

At least, this Dealer in Aus is offering to return the Deposit and hold the slot if and when it becomes viable for you. At the same price ?.
36 months!. So thats is 5 years from the Pandemic to sort out alternative components manufacturing capability.

Hardly going to be choosing a different Audi product after this crap.

When changing our M140i to an S3 I thought Audi were doing things better. But we've got BMW making butt ugly cars and Audi not making any cars at all.

Looks like the Tesal is staying for a while. You can get a Tesla in a couple of weeks.
