A3/S3 delivery lead time?

I’ve had a call mines slipped to week 9 also. Hope this isn’t a default build week they’ve quoted

My S3 Vorsprung was ordered in May 22, and started build this week. So seems like it's dependant on the model, hopefully they get moving shortly. I've been told Early March for delivery which ties in with it starting build this week....

I hope...

That's consistent with my experience. Also an S3 Vorsprung. Ordered early Jan 22, picked up almost exactly 11 months later.

I messaged my salesman at MK Audi on monday to enquire about my S3 Vorsprung which had a build week of week 4 this year.
Still waiting for an answer.
Probably not good going by my dealings with them last year

I’m probably going to walk away from this and find something else to buy. I did a little digging and found dealers in my area which post the door placard with build date for everything in their inventory. There are a BUNCH of A3s and S3s on the ground with November build dates, some equipped similarly to my alleged October build. It’s silly that Audi can’t be straight with customers about status. I’d be more likely to try again if they weren’t leaving us to tread water endlessly. But they are so I probably won’t.

There does seem to be quite a bit of new stock about but I wonder if it’s people cancelling orders and the dealer taking it anyway?

US dealers put everything that comes in on their website. These could all be sold customer vehicles for all I know.

i cancelled one of my order 1 month before arrival, they putted it on listing once it was produced (not delivered)
Yup. Mine has been listed with a stock photo and a VIN since late September. Canceled cars just go on the lot and get sold. Dealer makes money either way.

Audi dealership are saying my car is still scheduled for build week 5, however I've got an email from Audi UK saying it started being built last week. Any idea which Is more accurate?

I'm inclined to believe Audi UK over the dealership given what seems to be a sizable disconnect between Audi and the dealerships...

I ordered January last year

I ordered January last year now got a unconfirmed build week of 9 so around same time as you so hopefully that’s a good sign but like ya say won’t be holding my breath either
Scratch that moved back to mid June delivery seriously thinking of cancelling and getting something else now that’s 18 months and still no confirmed date don’t know Audi are getting away with it everyone else besides them and vw are getting shorter these are getting longer bmw 25 weeks Audi 2 years

I wandered into BMW this week and the sales guy was all concerned about managing expectations. If I ordered the car we talked about I wouldn’t have it until March or April. (Of this year )

I was in discussion with my local BMW dealer last year after I'd put an order in for the Audi, when there were rumblings of hefty lead times for the TFSIe S Line Competition.

I made enquiries for new 330e M Sport, this was at the end of July, for which they could secure me a November build slot without any concern or hesitation.

Far less restrictive with the spec and options too!

Could probably have been driving it now if I had seen it through :tearsofjoy:

Seems like most of VW group is the same, my wife ordered an Up and it’s been four months so far but build week theoretically this week.

Chased up my dealer again today. He sent me a screen shot of their order system and my car has been built and is at the docks in Emden awaiting shipping to the UK.
Things must be getting better as it was meant to go in to build this week.
So finger crossed will have it early March!

My dealer has officially given up on helping me get the car I ordered. “We contacted Distribution and did not receive an explanation. We apologize and understand if you go a different route.” I guess this is what happens when making a sale doesn’t matter. Really disappointed. Today marks 16 weeks since the car was reportedly built and no updates from anyone on anything since then. I’m officially calling it. Good luck to everyone still waiting. Just don’t expect Audi to do anything for you if something goes wrong.

Checked with my company's fleet provider this morning that I'm still on for a March delivery. Told that has now moved to an unconfirmed build of week 9 and delivery May/June (ordered August '21). Starting to think Audi know there is a fundamental issue with the 45TFSIe Competition, and that they will eventually cancel the orders as they are unable supply the cars. Hope I'm wrong, but the longer this drags on, the more it seems we'll never see this model. Can't even cancel as company fleet director has put a hold on all new car orders.

Mine was at week 9 same car moved back to week 13 yesterday June delivery estimated not confirmed so they will keep putting off already looking at cancellation and getting a stock car or one that will be here bmw is 26 weeks lost faith in them would rather them cancel than keep messing about weekly

Spoke with my dealer the other week still no build slot but he looked on the system, had errors on week 8,9 &12 waiting for various parts. Think week 12 said waiting on black pack for competition and the other was transmission..... Guess mine won't be given a slot until after week 12.

I spoke to BMW about a 330e, I could have it in 2 weeks....

Shame they've stopped doing the 330i Xdrive or id be seriously considering having one of those instead. I've got a 330e at the minute whilst my car is being repaired and it's great, just missing a few of the toys on the Vorsprung.

I bought an apex blue/orchid 6MT Acura Integra on Saturday right off the lot. Was my second choice from the very beginning and took under 24 hours to acquire it once I decided what I wanted  Different car to an S3…better in some areas, weaker in others, priced like the fancy Civic that it is…but I’m really enjoying it. And I’m more than a little relieved to be done with Audi’s total apathy toward customers.

Great news!!!!! My order has been pushed back by another 2 weeks from Wk8 to W10 (not firmed). 18 months and counting form point of ordering to currently waiting for a confirmed build week. Wonder what Audi would say if i offered to pay for the car 18+ months after i had received it?

Can I ask what models are causing these crazy 18 month delays? Ordered a new A3 S-line (C&S and high beam assist and a few other bits) at start of January to replace my 2019 A3 8V S-line. Order confirmed received by Audi, no build date yet but dealer was saying probably 16-18 weeks for delivery or is this being overly optimistic? TIA

I have order A3 45TFSI S-line Competition with a number of options. To my knowledge the only option Audi have removed from my order is the ambient lighting pack. Think all my other options will come. From other posts I got the impression that the Competition has the longest delays in the A3 range.

Been told by my dealer 37weeks if I order in the next few days. Looking at a 35 tfsi DSG sport back SLine

If this is UK a dealer and I’m also going for the same engine/gearbox I’ll not get my hopes up for the delivery time my dealer has quote me.

I would just go on Audi's new stock website frequently there's always cancelled orders coming through. Saves the waiting and could be lucky with something that matches your options.

Had confirmation my S3 Vorsprung started build this week, so expectation is that it's now built, or will be by early next week and it'll be here for the beginning of march.

Order beginning of May, so almost 10 months in total....

Spoke to the dealership yesterday and apparently my S3 Vorsprung has been released from the port and is now on the boat and should be here in a couple of weeks!!

another delay, build now pushed back buy another week and yet not confirmed. this year alone its been pushed back from wk2, wk3, 4, 6, 8,10 and now Wk 11. I wouldn't mind but it coming onto 19 months since ordering. Will it ever arrive?

Yea same as me, just waiting for it to arrive in the UK. Hopefully be able to collect first week of March

My Vorsprung was ordered on4/2/22 so should be just over 13 month wait when i get it, although i'm sure i've seen posts on here where people have ordered an S3 with just a couple of option extras and the wait was a lot less.

I just feel the dealer will say oh it’s only 6 or 8 months wait and then it will just keep getting pushed back like most on here say, and the dealer just wants me to put my deposit down so they get a sale knowing that it will be a long wait

Crazy how long it is taking for cars to come through the S3 facelift is coming at the back end of this year
so you would think they'd try and get these orders over the line

Yeah maybe, we were originally told build week 39 last year with late October collection, it all seems to be a bit of a lottery!
