Audi A3 hybrid battery warranty

Hello, my name is Petar, I'm from Croatia. It's about my Audi A3 2016 sportback hybrid battery warranty of 8 years. I was sending mail to my local dealer (btw I'm the third owner of the car) just to see what procedure with 8 years warranty on hybrid battery goes. In last month my battery range suddenly fall from 35 km's to 25 km's. I asked dealer is there a possibility to test the battery, they said yes, it's 120 EUR and I will pay that if battery is above warranty level or they will pay if battery is below level. My question is - did somebody went to dealer asking for hybrid battery test and if they had battery below level, what's the procedure? Do they replace failed cells or if level is way low, will replace whole battery? If somebody do the test, please reply.

Hi, I have not had battery tested but did research about a year ago. It appears the battery threshold is about 30% loss of capacity and if below that they replace whole battery,

just FYI, the car looses large range in winter due to inefficiency and also electric heating. This may account for the drop in range and not necessarily a failing battery. Also, most people who got new battery installed, the charge gauge did not show full after charging on the bad battery.

I am going to get my battery tested about 7.5 years old and see what they say.

**** Yes I too realize more than 30 percent is needed for Audi to respond ... but respond how? With changing whole battery or independent cells

*** Last year winter did not interfere with my EV battery, maybe 5 percent of seasonal degradation return to normal when sprint arrived.

That's my plan, but just wanted to contact Audi and see what procedure is exactly.

I have a 2010 a6 3.0t and a 2012 a5 2.0t. I tested out one of these and loved it!
