Help please - bought a 2011 Japanese import A1 S Line satnav model and want to use her in the UK
The problem is the Satnav is installed but says ‘you are out of range of maps’ and I keep being told by Satnav SD suppliers on the internet they can’t supply UK maps to me. Is this true and do I need to go to a Audi dealer as my display does show Satnav is activated? James

Need to check the unit fitted to see if it is JP specific or is used in other markets as usually they lock them down & there maybe aftermarket conversion tools but it could render it a brick.

Maps etc show as jp ATM so you may have to fit an EU or UK market unit then maps will be available.

Thank you for your response and so quick too - doesn’t sound hopeful - Audi dealer in Somerset thinks he can help so I might try them.

Urmmm unless that nav unit is of the same version for UK market then it's unlikely based on past experiences it can be converted by the Audi dealership, I'd guess they maybe offering to swap out for a UK one but it's very expensive usually unless Audi have added the ability to convert units to different regions.

Ok - take your point - you are probably right - really pleased I joined this forum - getting some proper advice from members

My suggestion would be you ring the dealer & ask them what they're actually offering to do given it's a Japanese market vehicle as it may save you a visit charge.
