Just wondering if anybody has worked out the best way to listen to music without Apple play?
I have around 8000 contacts on phone with addresses, that disappear when using Apple play as well as unable to use the steering wheel menu for phone calls, so I have decided to ditch Apple play for now.
the only issue with that is, requesting music via Siri as this now doesn’t work, so I’m now unable to choose music unless it is already selected
Has anybody worked away around this.?

Apologies if this should be posted else where as I don’t know if this is A3 specific or across the car range
Car has C&S B&O park plus etc.

Cheers

I’m not 100% certain this will work, but if you sit in your car, go to Wi-Fi on your phone and turn off auto connect to the two Audi Wi-Fi’s. It’ll stop the car auto starting car play every time, then connect via Bluetooth and use it like you would in any other car (the steering wheel controls should work then).

The auto connecting of CarPlay interferes with trying to view footage on my dashcam, can be a pain at times!

Ok I will give that a try.
I turned Apple play off in the phone settings menu but it still connects to WiFi hotspot sometimes
Cheers

Have you tried putting music on a pen drive in one of the USB-C sockets ? I do this as i find it easier on short journeys - music plays immediately the ignition is on. Bit of an old school suggestion but it works.

Just a long press on the voice command button while connected to car play brings up Siri. Then use Siri to call your contact. Works without issue for me.

You should be able to request music using Siri without Apple Car Play. With the phone connected by Bluetooth, press and hold the voice control button on the steering wheel to access Siri. (The MMI voice control is triggered by a short press on the same button. ) This works for me.
