BIL11 85 (mkII) 2022 RS3 8Y Build

I'd sell the car if that AH pratt had been anywhere near it :gun2:

I wasn’t there lol, car has been left with R44 performance

Hope he paid you for using your car in that video.

He’s bound to get a load of money off the back of your car being awesome so should share the wealth with you

I’ve even forgot to mention I bought this a couple weeks ago. RSQ3 flat bottom steering wheel, could this be the first Vorsprung without a “ROUND” wheel?

Going to get it fitted and see if it throws up any error codes and if it does, can they be shut off with VCDS or coded out. If that all works, it will be off to get retrimmed and made a bit more exciting…

Im guessing the MSS Adjustables from 8V.5 will be a direct fit to these?
Were your eibachs from the 8V?

Looks good, I reckon these cars can even run 10J lol

I’m not to sure if these are 8Y specific or the 8V ones. Would need to ask the manufacturer

The spacers can be found about £30 cheaper elsewhere as a heads up. But they look great.

I'm still in two minds about the size of the spacers on the front, personally. Think I might be tempted to go a little smaller, so the back sticks out a bit more aggressively.

But with the lowering springs, your squared-off stance looks lovely.

I think there used to be a forum discount code on BIMECC spacers through cmwheels.com - I used them for my 8V and it came to £125 delivered. Not sure if they still honour it though.

eBay has the same ones albeit 15/20mm (they have other sizes) for £15 less. Still £15 in my pocket for some other mods :D

Car went into limp mode after around 800 miles give or take, so having to put the cat and OPF back in. So gutted as I’ll certainly miss that sound!

Shame, but not all that surprising it eventually threw a fit I guess. I’m more surprised it lasted that long to be honest!

Ah fecker:sorry:Can you not just disconnect the battery for 10 mins and see if it resets the ECU?
Assuming @Aoon_M hasn't cracked the ECU yet??

****** good job they havent done dozens of the cat/OPF removals after initially thinking it was just an EML and no Limp stuff

Clever things these modern ecu's, probably more self checking and emission type checking than the actual engine programme itself

Love a bit of carbon fibre and that ticks all the right boxes. I’m going to have to order one but I’ll wait until I have a build week first!

That looks great but soooooo much money for little gain IMO
I’ve been talking with Revo as I know a few chaps that fitted their CF intake and larger elbow and saw excellent gains, for basically 1/3 of the cost for the eventuri. Love the eventuri but just can’t justify the price

The Eventuri gives you about 15-20hp apparently. They're a very good intake albeit very pricey. That picture makes everything look very wonky though and it hurts my eyes lmao

The eventuri fits perfectly? wasn't there a video of them testing it and it didn't quite fit 100% though it still works. the engine was moved forward bit more compared to previous gen and they were still developing one specifically for the 8Y

I believe this is a test mule intake for the 8Y although Billy will be able to confirm.

This is the new 8Y intake.

Is it me or does the rear look lower than the front? Bit of reverse rake?

Looks nice and squat but I would want the rear to sit a tad higher…

Looks too low for my taste. I like wheels to have the same gap all the way around to wheel arch, the wheels also stick out a little too far for me from some angles, I doubt Audi would honour any paint/rust warranty work

Yeah tbh it is pretty low at rear, no issues at all with just 2 in car but does run with 4 people

Id probably raise the rear a extra 10mm if I could. Spacers wise, wouldn’t change, love the spec on these.

How have you found the ride Billy? I've gone for the exact same set up and purchased the springs and spacers. Once my car is here the plan is to get these fitted at my sons dealership prior to collecting the car, hence other than having driven other 8Y RS3s i wouldn't know any different on mine from a ride/comfort perspective as wouldn't have driven it stock! :thumbs up:

It's not going to improve the ride quality that’s for sure,

Engineers spend countless hours on both suspension geometry and ride heights etc, every car has what called ''roll centre's'' this is a fixed point in space below the car that it rolls or arcs around when it rolls in a corner, it is this 'point' that dictates where and how much the weight transfers either across, longitudinally, diagonally around the car (asd do springs and anti roll bars)

Dampers also need to be matched to springs, rebound within the damper controls the release of the spring after say hitting a bump or exiting the corner, whilst the compression part of the damper could be seen as assisting the spring, of course in adaptive suspension these settings are also altered to assit the spring dependant on the cars attitude and your inputs.

It is very easy to f**k all this up by messing with springs, height and wheels spacers, wheels spacers will affect roll centre's, and the cars Ackermann principle, I know this lot from countless years engineering race cars, when you take a well set up (Factory settings) performance car it can be very difficult to find any quick improvements...............as an eg in 1991 we raced 2 911 Carrera RS's, straight out of the box they were only just over a second off the pace at Donnington, finding that 1.5 seconds is very time consuming and made the cars terrible on the road :)
