Next car after A4, Skoda VRS?

I've currently got an A4 from 2016, it's one of the 1.4tfsi 150 ones. I think it's worth about £9k at this point.

I'm looking at my next car (which being honest is likely to be at least 12 months away now). The dream would of been an S5 Sportsback but that's not going to be affordable due house and a new baby.

I want something with plenty of go about it but with a decent boot and space. So I'm looking at the Octavia VRS 245, especially as you can get them for low £20k's.

What are your guys thoughts on that and are there other options to consider with similar sort of power to weight?

In my opinion you should choose Passat GTE Variant. Since you do not need gasoline to drive it. As gasoline is not available anymore in the UK.

Don't want an electric thank you, not until I'm forced to.
It's a myth, it's very easy to get petrol in the UK. Had no issues what so ever or anyone else I know.

I bought a brand new VRS in 2015 off the back of an uber brilliant Mk1 VRS which I had owned for 11 years and 150K miles and no issues at all.

Initially it was all I wanted with the options I went for, however the drivers seat side squab started to wear through at 12000 miles/18 months old and Skoda Customer Service didn't want to know, "Fair wear and tear, 6 months or 6000 miles warranty Sir" (got loyalty assistance with the repair from a dealer who I had used through my Mk1 ownership, but still cost me £300).
Then when it reached 21K the now recognised dreaded oil consumption issue with the 2ltr TFSI engine started to show (it wasn't a known common issue at the time) so got shot pronto.

Would I buy another Skoda? NO.

I had a second Male menopause and bought a 2005 Maserati Gransport a useable Italian Supercar (well it was when new), however I just couldn't get comfortable for a drive more than 30 minutes.
Now own a 2015 B8.5 S4, without doubt one of the best cars I've owned.

I've recently got the same car, although in Avant guise. Great car and I'm hoping the updates with the CREC engine will pay off in the long run. Just done the full front suspension with the Meyle HD kit, big job but hopefully it will last for a long time.

I do get a little stutter sometimes in 3rd gear if accelerating gently, but only does it in Drive and not when in manual. Can't figure out what it is, hopefully not the mechatronics. Was thinking maybe the s/c electromagnetic clutch engagement as I'm guessing when going into manual (like sport) the s/c clutch will engage constantly as the response is far more instant with no lag, unlike in Drive.
