SQ5 Front windows misting up more than normal

We have a 2020 Audi SQ5 and have a lot of trouble with our front windows misting up at the front bottom,

No matter which setting (air con on or off), it always seems to bloomin well mist up, mainly on warm and raining days

When I swipe the front windows the mist is swept away as its always on the outside, then it just builds back up again which is annoying

Someone on the SQ5 FB page says it’s because we have good A/C, but regardless of it being good or bad, the windscreen should demist with a correct setting.

Is there anything like the pollen filter or anything we can try, anyone else have this issue and been able to sort it?

Seen this in other threads and the advice was to try using the heating on auto setting and use the air-conditioning set on 19 to 21 max. Do not use recirculating air setting. And let this run consistently on low so fan speed 1 or let the car decide by leaving on auto fan speed setting

however also Had a similar problem on the wife’s Q3. In her case it was a problem with pano roof.

if you have one of them on the car that might worth having a look at that too

We don’t have a pano roof now bud on SQ5, our last Q5 did and never had any misting issues

My previous 2018 model Q5 had exactly the same problem, however, the mist was only on the passenger side, but I’m afraid I never found a solution to prevent this happening before I sold the car last year. I must admit, I did find the problem most annoying!

Yeh it’s the front of the windscreen and always on the exterior of the window

Nothing you can do with it being on the outside. It’s just moist air outside hitting the windscreen and condensing. It doesn’t help it’s a suv so being tall it’s hitting the air head on.

Changes the surface tension of water so doesn’t evaporate. If you look at a well waxed car the water beads but doesn’t evaporate quickly on a unwaxed car water is flat and evaporates very quickly

Is there a way to decontaminate my front windscreen, any strong cleaners which would remove the wax?

Just to add, when we did buy the car the windscreen was very smeary when using the wipers, so I changed to new and it’s much better

Audi must have have used a heap of wax as my other half who picked it up said “when I picked up the car, drove it a week, then went to the car wash and the water was beading down the window“

A good window cleaner or fairy liquid will remove it, fairy liquid will remove most waxes in my experience so keep away from body work. Could also try a soft clay bar. Failing that a window polish like the autoglym one has a mild cutting compound so will cut through it but will require some elbow grease.
you will find if it’s got some spray wax on the windscreen the wipers has some ghosting after each wipe. Some waxes are better than other for it. I like the beading on the sides and back windows but not the front windscreen.
