Tracking our new RS3?

It seems to me that your dealer probably already had an order in for the RS3 and they changed the spec to what you wanted which is why it was so fast!
Nah the 2017 models were built very quickly as at the time every Audi sport dealer only had 5 slots for all rs3 for the whole of 2017. Not all Audi dealers are Audi sport dealers. It’s why you don’t see too many 2017 rs3, most are 2018 or later opf versions

I do think you should be able to track in one way or another your build when you're buying a premium car like the RS3 and beyond without having to contact a dealer.

Audi customer care on Twitter were pretty quick to respond when I asked if my order is in the system but yes I agree there was no need to pull the tracker

Just had a letter from Audi Finance saying that have extended my current car finance until June next year to allow time for the new car to be delivered. They have added an extra 3 months on top which also brings the final balloon down to £18,764. Currently at 58k miles and WBAC values at £34k (although I need to get my alloys re-furbed and some smart repair work done). I estimate around 800 miles a month so thats an extra 8,000 miles so expected final mileage would be around 67k.

Obviously I hope I am not waiting until June! But the lower that balloon gets the more equity I am likely to have in the car!

Surely at your request

Yes, that is correct but if the dealer has done this it suggests they really don’t expect it until after March.
Did your APR jump to 8.8% ? when I payed the ballon on my S3 Audi finance gave me the option to Re finance but said your APR won't be 5.9 it will be 8.8 APR . Typical Audi I guess

No it is just extended 3 months. Same rate but lower balloon IF we get to that stage. I hope the car arrives sooner….

Anyone else just had an email from Audi Uk?
“Your order has been received but it might take a little longer to be built than previously anticipated”. Etc etc

Not had one (yet) but will see.

Had your build week been confirmed prior to this?

Hopefully it’s just a generic email for people that weren’t expecting delays. Early days yet, so I’m still hopeful for March
I am due for a routine update from the dealer, next week. Promised every 2 weeks or earlier if the situation changes.

The issue isn’t the ordering phase - it’s knowing what’s happening over months and months! And the online tracker was a great way.
Maybe I’m just extra impatient!

Agree it would be good to be able to track things without relying on dealer updates.

The vw tracker was there for that purpose but I found most people were too impatient and it ended up causing headaches as people were complaining at what the tracker said vs dealers, since they chased dealers up anyway!!

Maybe that’s why Audi don’t bother with it…

I’ve found chasing or hounding a dealer for updates makes no difference to how quickly my cars come so best to just sit back until the cars with the dealer, then start chasing them

Putting a positive spin on it, you’re just being extra enthusiastic!!

So an email that tells you exactly FA?

It could be anything from being 'previously anticipated' in a couple of months to next October (2022) or further, typical Audi *****

My delivery day looked like this and can confirm that the car is still intact, in one piece and not ruined. ;) However, I'll be thankful if the weather is better when the RS3 arrives.

A mate of mine bought a new M3 about 3 years ago in the winter, I asked him how it went, he replied it was just about impossible to find out as it was trying to spin wheels all the time....................something we dont have that problem with :)

Even my sons RS3 engined Golf Mk2 with AWD/Quattro/4 motion or whatever you would call it in a VW and putting out around 525hp is ok (ish) in the wet

Your cars are more like garage queens mate and you don't live in Scotland where they grit the roads 6 months of the year

i get where you’re coming from but once you take ownership you will face winter/s and we all still drive about. Yeah they get muckier but after a good careful clean they look great again. I drive mine in all weathers including snow so no issue with a winter delivery.

Same with me, but when we don’t live in the North Pole (Scotland)

yeah true & fair point, a Scottish winter is probably a lot harsher than many of us are used to.

How are people getting build weeks? I ordered on the day of release and meant to be on one of the first batches. I understand every salesman says that but surely I’m not that far back I’ve not even got one?

This is my reply from my salesman if anyone knows the meaning of the status numbers
“I've just check the status of your car it at status 10 but no movement your car is in the VIP listing though and it will be in the first batch ,
However there are different stages for different paints as your is in the green colour this has a longer process compared to say a black or grey.”

Not sure why Kyalami would have a longer process, it's a flat colour. I ordered on the 17th, and had a build week from about 4-5 days in. Contact Audi UK on twitter or facebook with your order number and have them check instead. From memory it's a carbon you ordered, so would have expected a build week by now. But in the off chance it's Vorsprung, nobody has build weeks for them yet and wouldn't expect them until December.

It is indeed vorsprung I’ve ordered. And I am expecting December or january delivery time as that is when I was promised, just thought I’d have a build date yet but he says my order only says status 10. But if all other vorsprungs owners have been told that to then not to worry.

I’ve been told off my dealer today delivery time is going to be March 2022, I’ve got a Vorsprung on order.

Yeah Vorsprungs won't build until week 50 at the very earliest so I wouldn't expect to see a build date yet.

Vorsprung aren’t due to enter build until wk48 at the earliest so I think it may be into the new year.

Status 10 = The factory has received your formal order and is awaiting a build date that means all orders received ie everyone that has placed a order will be on status 10 only when you've been told your order is on STATUS 20 = confirmed build date then thats when the ball starts moving anyone that says differently is deluded
