New RS3 8Y Design Details

Cannot belief some of the colours. I get the Red, green, Daytona and black. But no Nardo!!! And as you say some colours aren’t that special anymore

In the good old days we had a superb colour choice on s & RS cars - now the exclusive colours are whacky and tasteless (green and bluey grey) and the rest is same old same old ... why not even offer navara blue ... the colour choice is very frustrating and pretty much limited to: white, black or grey IMO.

Do we think the car with the camo wrap is daytona at base ?

Looking at the none camo area around the number plate ... or is it all wrapped or a bespoke grey ?

Lol this one is my fav……she even pops the bonnet to stroke the 5 cylinder

That is horrible! Although to be fair all that is happening here is the end part isn’t attached to the exhaust, if you look at the current RS3 it is the same shape inside except attached; maybe that will be a popular mod. The AMG C63 has this exact same design with the exhaust ending before the trim.

Same on the A45s ........ it doesn't really bother me - you Guys are FAR TOO picky ..................... lol  :tearsofjoy:

& it might stop the black paint flaking off :tearsofjoy:

It’s something they do on the RS4 etc.

Makes replacing them easier though

When I asked Audi some months ago about this I was told and I quote
“ early paid up deposits will be first on the assembly line on the a3 build tracks for an X amount of cars for X amount of hours or days before it is designated back to A3 builds then there will be certain days exclusively where S3 and RS3 come on to the assembly line so in other words first come first serve build basis
Press cars and the like will almost certainly come before joe public
Including twaty you tubers
He could also be spinning me a load of *****

Twatty you tubers is exacly right, especially him. He is cringeworthy bad. He has racing talent so why not use it on his channel rather than spend daddys money on cars. I will be he will either:
1. Wrap it in some god awful colour
2. Put a stupidly loud exhaust on - so loud itll wake the dead, aliens, etc
3. Racing it against matt of carwow or the guy from botb - shouting so loudly as if we are all deaf and 110 years old
4. Keep it a week and do a vid on his selling it
5. Acting like a bellend
6. All of the above - most likely

These standard colours are really killing me. Turbo Blue? Python Yellow? these are CHEAP colours you can find on an A1 and while Kyalami green is not a bad colour I don't think it's going to fit well with the RS3 in real life.

I think for most people It'll be a choice between Tango Red/Mythos Black/Daytona grey for a real low key look and that crappy Nardo grey replacement paint colour.
This colour is nice, not sure if itll suit the rs3

Wolf whistles to be made a crime I hear, all builders round the country are in trouble
The world has gone pathetic....in 50 years people will be too afriad to speak for fear of offending (obviously some things are not acceptable but everything should be in context)

The pathetic PC eggshells should just jump off a cliff

I Spotted it first time on the RsQ8
Right behind looks awful have to move slightly to left or up and down to avoid or at least paint it black in the first place not to notice it so much
But it is what it is these days
Soon be all electric anyways

There is a positive to the exhausts being set further back from the ‘tailpipes’ ... I’ve noticed they get less caked up so are easier to clean & stay cleaner for longer.

That and a GTechniq C5….easy to keep clean

The problem with Nardo Grey now is that there’s a plethora of manufacturers releasing cars in this colour. I’m seeing lots of bog standard 2020 Golfs with Nardo zooming about. It’s no longer exclusive to the Audi RS range. I wonder what colour will really let people know it’s an RS3.

Any idea what will happen to prices/residuals of the current facelift RS3 when this one hits the showrooms? I know we’re in a bit of a bubble at the minute but you’d expect to see some discounts on the current model what with people trading in to upgrade etc.

In my personal opinion they should have had Sepang Blue/Sprint Blue, Panther Black & Floret Silver available for the new RS3 8Y

I am disappointed in the lack of crystal effect paints as a standard option.

BUT worse is the fact that if you want the drift mode thats 6,500EUROS - fingers crossed the UK spec pricing is less stupid.

I just specced a 79,000EURO car on the German Configurator!

That's not true. Drift mode comes standard with Audi drive select, so that's all you need to spec. It's confusing on purpose to get people to spend more money on useless options like increasing the speed limit. The prices in the German configurator are high, just as the prices here, in Poland. The thing is that you can easily get 15-20% off these with some negotiation skills. I always get my cars with around a 18-19% discount.

The question is will it be standard here? I don’t understand German and I generally would not use translate to be 100% correct. Correct enough to have a little look around but not to decide on a final spec!

I think anyone who can get anywhere near 18-20% off the new rs3 has done very well!

Even with the price I imagine the demand will be high and the discount very low or non exsistant

I would suggest getting 5/6% discount is the most you could hope for.

Lol @ 18 - 20% for RS cars :tearsofjoy:
You’d be laughed out the showroom !

Good luck anyone getting anything meaningful off these cars for a very long time & I believe we could see regular price adjustments upwards too as materials are increasing in price exponentially at the moment & show no signs of slowing.

Agree snake, certainly in the UK, but think that poster was from Poland and said prices are inflated so
Maybe that is why…

if the prices are artificially inflated to begin with by 20% then in theory the Dealer could knock 20% off and still make his full margin ... but I find it hard to believe any market would discount low volume RS models in the current climate.

The other sting in the tail is the APR rates, and the RS range gets the full whack!

I got £1k off mine in 2015, pretty much no discounts back then.

I was given in writing £4k and change discount off a 8V RS3 Sportback from Carlisle Audi back in the summer of 2017 a year after the facelift 8V was introduced which roughly equates to £100 @month off a pcp payment first adopters are always going to pay through the nose for a new Audi RS model ...

His last comment was “Audi need to pull their finger out” is not far wrong. Reading on other threads on here people having ordered A3’s in March and still don’t have a build slot….madness

The big question for the 8Y RS3 is how well it drives. I do think Audi need to get some positive feedback from the motoring journalists on this one. I really hope it does get some positive comments on it dynamically for a change. They need to take the fight to BMW and Mercedes for once!
