KEY REMOTE PROGRAMING

Hi Guys,

I have 2x Remote keys both seem to work as the little red light flashes but none will open or lock the car?

Have tried a few procedures on the Net but no joy, does any one have any tips or know more?

Then you'll need vcds to reprogramme unless they're faulty, doubtful but vcds will see key presses so it'll help either way.

Would snap on Solus be able to do this procedure?

Not sure they have a module that supports this, best to ask whoever owns it unless it's yourself, but vcds would be best.

Hi mate,

Took the car to my local VAG specialist and the keys wouldn't code they have asked me to try get another Audi key that i know does work so they can try program that and see what happens other wise its the Remote Module, does this sound right? I cant see it being both keys at Fault would of thought at least one would of worked if it was a key/board fault?

I would only suggest you buy genuine vcds, not clone rubbish.

Yes would only buy genuine, But sorry i was meant to say could i buy a 2nd hand module of ebay and have that coded to the keys i already have? Is it as simple as plug it in, code it and away you go?? Cheers

Are you sure they know what they're doing as its not often the module goes tbh, not impossible but 9 times out of 10 its the knowledge how to, that fails on coding keys, not the unit.

I would of though they knew as they are a VAG car repair garage BUT i cant be 100% sure they are fully trained in this situation haha.

So what would you advise i do or carry out? Thanks for the help much appreciated

Well ideally find someone who uses vcds & knows exactly what they're doing, maybe have a spare module available incase they do find its this.

As you're in south wales, its not cheap for me to do lol

Will have to get on the hunt then, Where abouts are you?

Do you know where the module might be? Under the dash or in the boot?

if you haven't solved the problem try re-synching a key put it in the ignition turn and press the lock or unlock button sometimes it's press and hold info on web used to do it by putting the key in the door lock holding the key in the lock or unlock position and pressing lock button on the remote
