Hi everyone,

Had this pop up on myAudi, any idea what this is for?

Also have some issues others have posted about so will see what can be done while in:

1. Seat memory - the seat is in a different position every time I start the car and have to press the seat memory button to get in position. Minor issue but annoying.

2. Engine cutting out - after leaving a roundabout and in traffic the engine cuts out and won’t restart. The dash has an error message saying “start engine manually” but won’t restart even after switching off and locking the car. After about 20 tries it finally started last time.

I will probably get the usual BS that my software is up-to-date and the car is fine.

With regards to the first one ‘seat memory’ this is fixable with a software or software patch upgrade. For me it wasn’t minor issues it was driving me crazy:). Got it fixed same day as reported in a local dealer. Second one is something I haven’t heard about. But it looks like this one is a completely separate thing, part of different control system.

Spoke to Audi this morning, the recall 70I2 is for a piece of dashboard that can shatter if the airbags are deployed and could cause injury. Great to know, but apparently it’s safe to drive :) Effects A6, A7 2018-2020 if I heard correctly.

Other issues booked in at the same time, the seat is annoying but when the car cuts out leaving you stranded blocking a road refusing to start it makes you very angry! I have lost faith in the car, so now turn the start/stop off and this seems to stop the issue for now lol

How do you turn start/stop off ?
You can't switch off stop/start permanently, at least not on the >MY19 A6 models. You'll just have to get in the habit of switching it off manually every time you fire up the engine, trust me you get used to it and it becomes second nature quite easily :)

I just press the start/stop button every time I get in too which has temporarily fixed it, the car goes in on Thursday. Hopefully they will have some idea what’s causing the issue.

So I had the recall check at Huntingdon Audi, apparently my car was not affected.

Seat issue - no fault found
Restart issue- no fault found

I was told the software is “self healing” which is a new one to me and is maybe why no codes were detected.

Seat is still possessed but car hasn’t broken down yet which makes a nice change.

So after breaking down again with no fault found I sold my car back to Audi, thankfully the used car market is good.

I have returned to Mercedes who helped me purchase a new car that was cancelled.

Even when it was clear my car had issues and I was willing to swap Audi didn’t give a toss!

Reg was LP69SFN so good luck to the lemon owner and goodbye Audi.

Such a disappointment to what could have been an amazing car.
