40 TDI Oil Top Up

My oil level is at 1/3 after 9k miles. I'm assuming this is normal, only realised as it flashed up on the phone app. Also just had to put adblue in for the first time with this car.

Roughly how much oil do I need to put in to get it back up and is 5w-30 the correct stuff to use?

Think it is about 500ml from min to max. Then reading from the app is very erratic. I have had it flag asking for oil and the next day it is showing almost max. I would wait until the car tells you it wants oil. As already mentioned use fully synthetic oil that conforms with vw 507.00
