S4 Tyre Wear

What experience do people have with tyre wear on the S4? I have one with sport diff, do the front tyres wear faster than the rears or vice versa? I was led to believe the S4 is rear biased (poss maybe only with sport diff) so would assume rears wear quicker.

Any thoughts? Thanks

On my S4 the front tyres had slightly more wear than the rear, probably down to the front being slightly heavier

Rear biased or not, that turny wiggly steering wheel thing has a big impact on wear at the front.
I certainly found the fronts wore quicker on my S4. However in the RS4 it’s as if the front and backs are in competition with each other to see who can wear out quicker. It’s a close run thing so far

If you rotate wheels regularly it shouldn’t be a problem anyway.
im getting 20k out of a set of tyres and I’m probably changing them prematurely with a few thousand miles left ( because I put a winter set on and then in the spring I don’t like to put summer wheels back on with minimal tread, the tyres get refreshed while the wheels are off )

Indeed, my experience is that an RWD car with a decent amount of poke wears the rears quicker. Given the S4 is 40/60 front/rear I guess the front just edges it out with the weight MD braking forces.

I have the S$ Avant, the Dunlop's it came with had 25% wear and lasted about 10k before the front edges went before the centre tread, i did swap front to back to get the most out of them. Have a set of Winter wheels with Michelin full winter tyres, which get used from Late October to Late April.
I am mostly country roads hence the corners get knocked off quicker. currently on a set of NEXEN tyres, they started okay, but have they have gone a bit flexible, but for £100inc VAT and fitting a corner, cant argue with that. Replaced 2 in the last 3 months due to un-repairable punctures, which i am glad they weren't Michelin's.
Overall they seem to wear slightly more on the front than the rear, with the exception of the front edges, which swapping front to back half way seems to sort out.

For my next set of summer tyres am going to try some: Michelin Pilot Sport 4 or the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s
they seem to get real good ratings and in the past never had any issues.
