Hi can any one help? I recently had my front shock and and spring change on my Audi A4 slime B8 2010. However they where after market products fitted by my local garage. The problem is the car sitting higher than it was before. Before I could only get one finger between wheel and arch now I get three figures. Went back to the garage and the part numbers match up when checked.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Audi selling "S-line" and "full S-line" - ie first option had all the S-line cosmetic bits and the second option had the lower suspension as well.

Edit:- there is a strong case for getting sides replaced on a car at this age as settling/settled springs on these cars always lead to a change in the front geometry - though in your case it would possibly have ended with a car that was extremely high at the front!

When you say they were "after market products", do you mean standard spec but not OEM manufactured, or do you mean non-standard aftermarket manufacturers such as Bilsten, Eibach, H&R etc?

Thank you very much rum4mo. I’m going to pop into Audi on my way home today and ask them. Has this was a special edition model that may well be the case. The only trouble is, it might only be Audi that does these and may struggle to find them else where.

Thanks jdp1962 I think they would standard spec tbh. I’m going to pop into Audi today and ask for some clarification on this has I think has it is a special edition model it may well be they may well be different from the normal s line.

Just in case you still have not had a sensible answer to this, check the colour paint spots on the spring on the other side - each version of road springs have their own coding by way of coloured paint spots - by load range and standard/sport chassis and heavy duty and special purpose etc.

Back on this problem I have with these springs. Not been able to get any more clarity on them so my next option is to buy some eibach lowering springs. However they do a 35mm front with 30mm back lowering springs and a 45mm front and a 35mm back. Just wondering which one would suit the car best has I don’t want it to low with the arches over the wheels. This is kind of the look I’m trying to achieve.
